Ang P ba sa PUP ay “Pila nang Pila”—o kaya naman ay “Pinagkakaitan” nang sobra?

Habang libo-libong estudyante ang nagsisiksikan sa enrollment at nangangambang maubusan ng slot nitong mga nagdaang araw, sinasalamin lang nito ang kalunos-lunos na kalagayan ng PUP dahil sa mulat na pagdaramot ni Marcos Jr. sa pamantasan. Labis na limitado ang kakayahan ng PUP na tumanggap ng mas maraming estudyante at tugunan ang lumalaking pangangailangan para sa tunay na libreng edukasyon sa bansa.

Ngayong muli na namang nakaamba ang mababang alokasyon sa badyet ng PUP sa nalalapit na budget deliberations sa Kongreso, kasabay ng patuloy na pagtutulak sa NPU Bill at papalapit na huwad na SONA ni Marcos Jr., hindi na lang usapin ng mahahabang pila ang kinakaharap ng mga estudyante. Isa itong malinaw na larawan ng patuloy na pagkakait sa kabataan ng ating karapatan sa edukasyon at ng lumalalang krisis sa pampublikong edukasyon.

Kaya naman, Iskolar ng Bayan, sama-samang i-protesta ang kalunos-lunos na lagay ng ating pamantasan sa ilalim ng korap at pahirap na gobyerno ni Marcos Jr. at Duterte!

"Bakla, pero..." 😟

Bakit kaya palaging may kasunod na "pero" kapag bakla ang isang tao? Bakit tila laging may kailangang patunayan bago tanggapin? Kailangan bang maging pinakamagaling, pinakamatagumpay, o "may ambag" muna bago kilalaning tao?

Ang isang bakla ay hindi "bakla, pero." Bakla. Tuldok. 💅✨

Hindi kailangang maglatag ng listahan ng achievements para maging karapat-dapat sa respeto. Ang dignidad ay hindi premyong ipinagkakaloob lamang sa mga "exceptional." Ito ay karapatan ng lahat. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️⭐️

Ngunit kung pag-uusapan ang kasaysayan, hindi rin maikakaila na ang sangkabaklaan ay matagal nang nasa unahan ng pakikibaka. Ang lugar ng mga bading ay hindi lamang sa entablado, opisina, silid-aralan, o sining—nasa lansangan din. Nasa bawat protesta para sa demokrasya, karapatang pantao, at tunay na kalayaan. Nasa mga komunidad na patuloy na lumalaban para sa isang lipunang walang kailangang magpaliwanag kung bakit sila karapat-dapat mahalin, igalang, at pakinggan.

Hindi namin kailangang patunayan ang aming halaga.

Pero kung may isang bagay na paulit-ulit naming patutunayan, ang pakikibaka para sa pagkakapantay-pantay ay hindi matatapos hangga't wala ni isa ang naiiwan. ✊❤️‍🔥🏳️‍🌈

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 | On the Conclusion of Councilor Drew Mijares' Leave of Absence

Councilor Drew Mijares formally submitted a request for a Leave of Absence effective from June 29, 2026, to July 12, 2026. The request was duly approved by the Council.

During the approved leave period, Ms. Krystal Destine Guanlao, Secretary of the Logistics and Secretariat (LogiSec) Committee, was designated as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) to assume the responsibilities of Councilor Mijares.

As of July 13, 2026, Councilor Mijares' approved Leave of Absence has officially concluded. Accordingly, they have resumed their duties as a member of the Executive Committee and as Head of the Logistics and Secretariat (LogiSec) Committee. Likewise, Ms. Krystal Destine Guanlao has returned to her regular responsibilities as Secretary of the LogiSec Committee.

The Council welcomes Councilor Mijares back and looks forward to their continued service to the Artista ng Bayan. The Council also extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Guanlao for capably serving as Officer-in-Charge during the leave period and ensuring the continuity of the committee's operations.
