LETTER ON PUP'S BUDGET CRISIS, DETERIORATING FACILITIES, AND THE MAY 5 GENERATOR EXPLOSION SUBMITTED TO CONGRESS, THE SENATE, AND CHED
Christian Ancheta, President of the PUP College of Arts and Letters Student Council, has formally submitted a letter appealing to the relevant committees of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), calling for immediate action on the Polytechnic University of the Philippinesโ budget crisis, deteriorating facilities, and pressing safety concerns following the generator explosion at the Manila Campus on May 5, 2026.
The letter was signed by Christian Ancheta and co-signed by Cherry Jhoana Ubani, President of the PUP College of Political Science and Public Administration Student Council. Among the key demands raised were an immediate investigation into the incident, rehabilitation of affected facilities, increased funding for PUP, and concrete measures to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for all Iskolar ng Bayan.
