๐Ÿ† Honoree of The Legacy Awards PH 2026

LEGACY ICON OF EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC, INSTRUMENTAL ARTS, AND CREATIVE PERFORMANCE

Some artists master a craft. Others become part of its history.

Jong Cuenco is a distinguished Filipino artist whose remarkable versatility has allowed him to transcend the boundaries of a single profession. An accomplished actor, musician, flutist, recording artist, composer, host, and creative professional, he has built a career defined by artistry, adaptability, and an enduring passion for the performing arts.

His musical journey is a testament to perseverance and a lifelong commitment to his craft. He initially studied music at the University of the Philippines, but was unable to complete his degree at the time. Three decades later, he returned to the path he had begun and successfully earned his Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Music Performance from St. Paul University Manila through the ETEEAP programโ€”a remarkable achievement that reflects his dedication to learning and his unwavering love for music.

His artistic excellence has earned recognition from esteemed institutions and award-giving bodies, including the Aliw Awards Foundation, Awit Awards, and the Cultural Center of the Philippinesโ€™ National Music Competition for Young Artists.

Across decades of creative work, he has graced prestigious stages, contributed to television and film productions, created music for significant national and institutional occasions, and supported fellow Filipino artists through his continuing involvement in the creative community.

Yet his greatest distinction extends beyond awards and accolades.

It is found in the music he has created, the performances he has shared, the characters he has brought to life, and the inspiration he has given to generations of artists and audiences.

Jong Cuenco represents the rare artist whose talent refuses to be confined to one discipline. His journey proves that passion has no expiration dateโ€”and that the pursuit of excellence can be continued, completed, and celebrated at any stage of life.

In recognition of his exceptional contribution to Philippine music, instrumental arts, and creative performance, and for a distinguished career marked by versatility, perseverance, passion, and artistic excellence, The Legacy Awards PH 2026 proudly honors JONG CUENCO as the LEGACY ICON OF EXCELLENCE IN MUSIC, INSTRUMENTAL ARTS, AND CREATIVE PERFORMANCE.

A lifetime of artistry. A journey of perseverance. A legacy that continues to resonate.

Congratulations, Mr. Jong Cuenco! ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽถ

May your music continue to resonate, your artistry continue to inspire, and your legacy continue to enrich the cultural landscape of the Philippines.

On this day, August 8, the College of Music and Performing Arts' former dean reunited with our Lord.
