RE: CAMPUS OVERNIGHT SHELTER FOR STRANDED STUDENTS

Due to the flooding inside the campus, the University has designated areas to house affected students and to provide safe shelter for them overnight. The academic units have identified areas for their students. Those who can’t go to their Colleges may opt to stay at the Tan Yan Kee Student Center.

Vehicles entering the campus to fetch the students are allowed.

All Thomasians are advised to stay indoors, avoid navigating floodwaters, and prioritize their safety tonight.

If you need assistance, please reach out to on-site campus security or safety staff, and keep an eye on official university channels for further updates.

𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗦: 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝘅𝘆𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

The UST Health Service will provide free doxycycline prophylaxis to Thomasians who have waded through floodwater and are at risk of leptospirosis.

Those who have been exposed may visit the UST Health Service once it is safe to travel to the clinic, or if they are still within the University premises. Students may also consult online through ThOMedSS starting tomorrow for proper assessment and guidance regarding prophylaxis.

We strongly encourage early prophylaxis in preventing leptospirosis among individuals who have waded in floodwater. Doxycycline prophylaxis, when indicated, should ideally be taken within 24–72 hours after exposure. Students who have been exposed are therefore encouraged to seek consultation as soon as possible and not wait for symptoms to develop.

𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Our RCYC teams are present in every building, with Central Command based at UST Tan Yan Kee. All available CSSO (Campus Safety and Security Office) assets are currently being mobilized to assist stranded students, with efforts closely coordinated and monitored by guards and RCYC representatives at each building.

For First Aid for Wounds:

If you have sustained any wounds or cuts, or have waded through flood waters with open wounds, please disinfect the area right away with soap and running water or any available skin disinfectant. Afterward, kindly have it examined at the Tan Yan Kee (TYK) RCYC station.

𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲

CSSO personnel are currently conducting rounds on campus to check on and assist stranded students.

Should you need immediate assistance, medical attention, or first aid, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Red Cross Youth Council (RCYC) team in your respective buildings.

A BRAND NEW DAY, MORE TIGERS FINDING THEIR WAY HOME. 🐯🌅

After a brief delay, the PM Batch of Freshies finally had their moment at ROARientation 2026 on August 15, 2026. What was postponed only made today’s return more meaningful, as the cheers grew louder and the excitement came alive once again.

A brand new day begins, a new chapter unfolds, and one ROARientation becomes a memory to remember.

THE RAIN CAME DOWN, BUT THE ROAR CAME THROUGH. 🐯🌧️

A new generation of Tigers came together for ROARientation 2026, bringing energy, excitement, and the first roar of their Thomasian journey.

From the morning session to the much-awaited walk through the Arch of the Centuries, today marked the beginning of a journey worth roaring about. While the afternoon session was cut short by the class suspension, the Tiger spirit remained unstoppable.

Rain or shine, the Roar lives on.

Tomorrow, August 15, 2026, cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Metro Manila.

The public is urged to stay in safe location and stay vigilant at all times.
