Here is the Official Poster for National Heritage Month 2026 bearing the theme โ€œRoots and Horizons: Our Shared Heritage, Our Collective Futureโ€

At the heart of this yearโ€™s visual is the banigโ€”a symbol of connection, continuity, and community. Just as each strand is carefully woven, our heritage is shaped by the many stories, traditions, and identities that bind us as Filipinos across generations.

Surrounding it are diverse communities, reminding us that heritage belongs to all of usโ€”lived, practiced, and passed on in everyday life. The rising sun speaks of hope, while the vibrant colors reflect the richness and dynamism of our cultural expressions.

As we celebrate National Heritage Month this May, we are invited not only to look back with pride, but to take part in carrying our heritage forward. It is not confined to the pastโ€”it is a living legacy, sustained by collective care and shared responsibility.

Together, let us honor our roots and shape our collective future.

A milestone moment for open distance and elearning!

The Polytechnic University of the Philippines โ€“ Open University System (PUP OUS) proudly takes the global stage as it is officially confirmed to host the 39th Asian Association of the Open Universities (AAOU) Conference this October in Manila โ€” a historic first for PUP.

This significant achievement is marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between distinguished leaders in open and distance education: AAOU President and Open University of China President Dr. Wang Qiming, AAOU Secretary General Fan Xianrui, PUP President Dr. Manuel M. Muhi, and PUPOUS Executive Director Dr. Rudolf Anthony A. Lacerna.

As PUP continues to champion innovation and expand access to quality education, hosting AAOU 2026 reinforces its commitment to empowering learners beyond borders and shaping the future of open learning in Asia and beyond.

Together, we open more doors, create more opportunities, and build a brighter future for all.
