The Far Eastern University - Nursing Society (NurSoc) is formerly known as the Institute of Nursing Student Council, the premier student organization in the department since its establishment in 1955 and is now re-established under a new organizational name. The Nursing Societyโ€™s responsibilities are to promote mutual understanding through social, civic, intellectual, recreational and scientific programs and activities. ๐–๐‡๐„๐ ๐•๐Ž๐ˆ๐‚๐„๐’ ๐€๐‘๐„ ๐’๐ˆ๐‹๐„๐๐‚๐„๐ƒ, ๐–๐‡๐Ž ๐–๐ˆ๐‹๐‹ ๐’๐๐„๐€๐Š? ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

Every ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ, we are reminded of a chapter in Philippine history that continues to shape how we understand freedom, democracy, accountability, and the power of speaking up. Proclamation No. 1081, declaring Martial Law, was signed on September 21, 1972.

But remembering is more than looking back. It is also about understanding how history continues to connect with the institutions and communities we live in today.

As future nurses, our responsibility goes beyond caring for patients. We are also called to recognize concerns, listen to the voices of others, and advocate for healthcare that upholds dignity and responds to the needs of the people we serve.

Because when voices are silenced, ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ง๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ ๐›๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ ๐š๐ง๐ฌ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ.

Let history be remembered. Let the truth be preserved. And let accountability remain a responsibility we uphold.

Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome, previously known as PCOS, is a widespread condition affecting many women and individuals assigned female at birth throughout their reproductive years. Driven by elevated androgen levels, it disrupts normal ovulation and commonly manifests as irregular periods, persistent acne, hair thinning, skin changes, and fertility issues.

Beyond these immediate symptoms, unmanaged PMOS carries serious implications for metabolic health, including a higher risk for Type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and endometrial concerns. Because of this, awareness and timely medical evaluation are essential.

Some struggles remain unseen, and some words remain unspoken. Yet behind every quiet moment may be someone carrying more than we realize.

This ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ฅ๐ ๐’๐ฎ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐๐ž ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ, may we choose to notice, to listen, and to reach out. A simple โ€œ๐™๐™ฎ, ๐™ ๐™ช๐™ข๐™ช๐™จ๐™ฉ๐™– ๐™ ๐™– ๐™ฃ๐™–?โ€ can open a conversation, while a willingness to listen without judgment can remind someone that they do not have to face their struggles alone.
