In Loving Memory of a True Master of the Garden: Worshipful Brother David Thomson

There are some men whose presence doesn’t just fill a room, but provides the very foundation upon which a brotherhood is built. Today, we stand in the shadow of a great loss as we collectively bow our heads to honor such a man. It is with a heavy heart and a profound sense of shared grief that we announce the passing of our Grand Master, Worshipful Brother David Thomson of the Ancient Order of Free Gardeners, Scotland, who transitioned to the Garden of Eden this May 2026.

To call David a "member" of our order would be a vast understatement. He was the embodiment of the Free Gardener’s spirit a man who understood that our craft is not merely about tradition, but about the constant cultivation of the soul and the selfless service to one’s fellow man. In every lodge he visited and every hand he shook, David sowed seeds of kindness, integrity, and wisdom. He spent his life tending to the bonds of our fraternity with the same patience and care a master gardener gives to his most prized blooms.

Under his leadership, the Ancient Order of Free Gardeners flourished. He led not with a heavy hand, but with a guiding light, reminding us all that the strength of our order lies in our unity and our commitment to charity. His wisdom was a sanctuary for many, and his dedication to the history and heritage of Scotland’s Free Gardeners ensured that our ancient light would continue to burn brightly for generations to come.

As he departs from our earthly lodge to find eternal rest in the Garden of Eden, we find comfort in the legacy he leaves behind. A legacy of quiet strength, unshakeable faith, and a brotherly love that knew no borders. The tools may be laid down, and the day’s work may be done, but the garden David helped grow will continue to thrive in the hearts of every Brother across the globe.

May he rest safely in the hands of the Great Gardener. Until we meet again in that eternal spring where no winter ever falls, may his memory be a blessing that keeps our spirits warm.

Fraternal integrity is built on truth, not appearance.

The regalia of an Order represents its history, lineage, and authority. Wearing symbols from jurisdictions you are not a part of creates confusion and disrespects the brethren who earned them.

If you wish to honor the Ancient Free Gardeners, the or any recognized body do so by seeking proper recognition and admission, not by imitation.

Stand on your own lineage.
That is the honorable path.

Pagbabalik-tanaw sa nakalipas — sa lugar kung saan pinlano, nabuo ang konsepto, at sinimulan ang ating mahal na kapatiran. Isang paaralang matatagpuan sa puso ng University Belt Area — ang San Sebastian College - Recoletos, Manila. Isang institusyong hinubog ang isipan at pagkatao ng mga magigiting at matatalinong haligi ng ating mahal na kapatiran.

Dito isinilang ang adhikain. Dito nagsimula ang kwento.

Sa loob ng paaralang ito, pinanday ang pagkakaisa ng tinaguriang The 37 Chartered Members, sa pangunguna ng ating Il Duce na si Vicente "Bing" Marabut— mga indibidwal na hindi lamang nangarap, kundi kumilos upang mapagtibay ang isang kapatirang nakabatay sa Pamumuno pakikipag-kaibigan, at tunay na paglilingkod.

Mula sa simpleng simulain, Ang Scouts Royale Brotherhood ay lumago at naging isang matibay na samahan na patuloy na nagbibigay inspirasyon sa bawat henerasyon. Ang legasiya nito ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa kalidad ng mga miyembro, kundi sa lalim ng impluwensya at sa mga buhay na nababago nito.
