ater became the Philippine College of Commerce and Business Administration (PCCBA) in the summer of 1947. In 1963 the College was renamed as the UE College of Business Administration. The UE College of Business Administration (CBA) has had a line of distinguished men and women at its helm. De La Cruz, the first Dean of the College (1947-1971) pushed for excellent performance at the CPA board examination. As a result, UE graduates garnered the 1st to 20th places in the CPA board examinations within his years as dean. Dean Sotero Lopez continued the programs of Dr. Dela Cruz. Upon the retirement of Dean Lopez in 1974, Dr. Isidro D. Cariño took over the helm of the College. In 1976, he introduced the BSBA Special Degree Program (BBM Program for Executives without a College Degree). Professor Jesus Casino succeeded Dr. Cariño in 1977. Jose Papa, OIC Prof. Carmen Lim, Dr. Feliciano Roque Jr. and Vice President for Finance and Dean Erlinda Pefianco successively continued, like their predecessors did, the main goal of the College: of training the youth to be competent in the field of business. In 1990, Dean Pefianco implemented the College’s Bachelor of Science in Accountancy program. To ensure better operation and supervision of the College, the office of the Associate Dean was split into two, with Prof. Ester F. Ledesma designated as Associate Dean for Accountancy and Dr. Mercedes J. Manaois as Associate Dean for Business. The College was then granted the Level I Accredited Status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities-Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). In 1990, upon Dean Pefianco’s appointment as Undersecretary of the Department of Education, Culture and Sports, Dr. Mercedes J. Manaois assumed the deanship of the College.
