ICYMI | Campus Connect 2026 Reaches PUP Sto. Tomas, Center's Student Voices
The PUP Office of the Student Regent brought Campus Connect 2026 to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Sto. Tomas Campus, gathering Tomasinong Iskolar ng Bayan for a day of dialogue, education, and consultation. Held at the campus gymnasium, the initiative aimed to directly engage students on the ground and ensure that their lived realities, concerns, and demands are recognized and addressed through collective action and responsive leadership.
The program featured discussions on student power, democratic rights, and the role of the youth in advancing genuine change. It emphasized that being an Iskolar ng Bayan goes beyond enrollment in a public institution—it reflects a responsibility to the broader community that sustains education. An open forum followed, during which students actively raised questions and shared insights, highlighting the importance of free expression and truth-telling within the academic space.
The consultation proper, led by the Student Regent and student leaders, addressed key issues such as the financial capacity of student organizations, safe spaces, campus press conditions, student participation, learning modalities, and the condition of facilities and learning environments. These discussions highlighted the urgent realities on campus and underscored the need for concrete, student-centered solutions.
Campus Connect 2026 in PUP Sto. Tomas stands as a testament to the power of grounded engagement and collective discourse. Strengthening unity among student organizations and amplifying the voices of Iskolar ng Bayan remain central in advancing a more responsive, inclusive, and empowered university community.
