It’s that time of the year again! The Asian Institute of Management’s MSc. in Data Science (MSDS) program is now open to receive industry/government use cases for our dynamic data science students to work on as part of their academic requirement. The research projects are defined by our private/public partners and are further refined by our data science professors and data scientists at ACCeSs@AIM.
Last year, the program received 25 use cases; 10 were then chosen from this pool. Some notable results* produced by our students for the stakeholders (done under the close supervision of our data scientists at ACCeSs):
(1) Accurate demand prediction model that when deployed is estimated to rake in about ₱300 million per annum for the company;
(2) Improved operations—translates to about ₱120 million cost reduction, plus increased reach, scale, and impact; and,
(3) Reduced man-hours allotted in manual and routine-heavy operations: from 40 man-hrs per entity to 11 minutes for ALL entities.
*The business value and impact of these projects were articulated by the stakeholders themselves.
If your company/organization wants to solve use cases with data (internal and/or external) and tech, and/or want to dive into short-term data-driven projects and see quick successes, you may want to check this MSDS program initiative.
Cheers!
