Its concentration was in Home Economics and the education of women in the home as its driving force. Dr. Nicanor Reyes Sr. Belen Gutierrez as the first dean of the four original institutes (Education; Arts and Sciences; Accounts, Business and Finance; Law) and she immediately engaged in organizing the nucleus of what later came to be the Institute of Education. Offered 2-year normal course for Ele

mentary School Teachers and the 4-year B.S.E and B.S.M.E. courses for Secondary School Teaching. IE also offered vocational courses or β€œCorte” (sewing course) and special Cookery courses (Chinese) handled by Hilaria Lusonghap.
