er of Development in the country with PACUCOA Level 4 accredited status. Its BS Occupational Therapy program is recognized by the World Federation for Occupational Therapy (WFOT) with PACUCOA Level 4 accredited status. The BS Sports Science and Speech-Language Pathology Programs are granted Candidate status by PACUCOA. UST CRS envisions itself of becoming one of the acknowledged leaders in education, research, and community development in the country and in the Asian region in the fields of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sports Science, and Speech-Language Pathology. In fact, it has been consistently recognized by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as one of the Top Performing Institutions in the Philippine Licensure Examination for Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists.

We congratulate UST-College of Rehabilitation Sciences Assistant Dean Ma. Georgina Diaz-Mojica, MHPEd, RSLP on her well-deserved recognition as the 2026 Outstanding Professional of the Year in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP)!

A prime mover in the profession, Mojica was instrumental in the passage of Republic Act 11294 or the SLP Act in 2019. She is also the Founding Chair of UST's Department of Speech-Language Pathology, which was established in 2009.

With profound sadness, the College of Rehabilitation Sciences mourns the passing of Professor Valentin C. Dones III, a valued member of the academic staff of the Department of Physical Therapy and former Researcher Supervisor of the Center for Health Research and Movement Science.

More than a teacher, researcher, and colleague, Dr. Dones was a cherished part of the CRS community. His dedication to his profession, commitment to his students, and meaningful contributions to education and research have left a lasting mark on the many lives he touched.

As we grieve this profound loss, we remember with gratitude the life he shared with us and the legacy he leaves behind. His presence will be deeply missed, but his influence will continue to live on through his students, colleagues, and the communities he served.

The entire CRS community extends its heartfelt condolences and prayers to his family, loved ones, friends, colleagues, and students. May they find strength and comfort in the memories they shared with him.

Rest in peace, Dr. Val. Thank you for your life, your service, and the difference you made. You will always be remembered. 🙏🏻

We are saddened to learn of the untimely passing of one of our esteemed professors, Professor Valentin C. Dones III, PhD, an academic staff and researcher of the College of Rehabilitation Sciences.

A respected academic and clinician, he has mentored generations of would-be allied health professionals and researchers. In 2024, he was hailed as the Outstanding Professional of the Year in Physical Therapy by the Professional Regulation Commission. Committed to making patients' lives more comfortable, he worked with the TOMASInno Center to establish the startup PainFree, which specializes in musculoskeletal pain management.

The community expresses solidarity with his bereaved loved ones in this time of profound grief.

Eternal rest grant unto Dr. Dones, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace.
