Issue No. 14 of QUESTIONS, DLSUโ€™s research magazine, features a process evaluation conducted by researchers from the Social Development Research Center. The four-page article presents the projectโ€™s findings and recommendations on the implementation of telemedicine for individual-based health services in the Philippines.

The study found that telemedicine remains relevant, but its routine and formal use remains limited, especially in remote areas. Weak internet connectivity, data privacy concerns, unequal access to digital technology, and fragmented governance continue to hinder its wider adoption.

The research team recommends modernizing telemedicine regulations, investing in secure and scalable systems, improving digital connectivity, and establishing formal training, monitoring, and evaluation programs. These measures can help make telemedicine more accessible, equitable, and sustainable.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), through the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev), commissioned the study. Dr. Marites M. Tiongco led the project as Project Director, with Dr. Melvin A. Jabar, Dr. Zaldy C. Collado, and Ms. Ella C. Oplas as Co-Investigators. The evaluation team included Bernardo Cielo II, Vergil de Claro, and Dr. Mitzie Irene Co**hada. Ms. Mona Pindog served as Project Manager.
