President Reynaldo Ramos has been reappointed to serve a second term as President of the Technological University of the Philippines, following the decision of the TUP Board of Regents.

The reappointment came after the completion of the President’s performance evaluation. Following a lengthy deliberation, the majority of the members of the Board of Regents voted in favor of his reappointment.

Amid the deliberations, the Student Regent stood firm in representing the collective sentiments of the students and the results presented by the Evaluation Committee, maintaining the student sector’s position throughout the discussion. While the decision was preceded by an extensive discussion among the members of the Board, the proper processes and governing procedures ultimately prevailed, with the majority decision determining the outcome.

The Office of the Student Regent extends its best wishes to President Ramos as he begins his second term and hopes that the coming administration will continue to pursue betterment, meaningful improvements, 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵, and responsive governance across the University.

As the University moves forward, the student sector remains committed to constructive participation, accountability, and the pursuit of what is best for the TUP community.

On 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, student leaders from all campuses of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP) reconvened online for a special deliberation to address unfinished business from the 2nd Federation of Student Governments (FSG) General Assembly. The assembly served as a collaborative space for delegates to review, debate, and vote on key policy proposals designed to champion student welfare, institutional development, and system-wide governance.

The final day of the 2nd Federation of Student Governments (FSG) General Assembly culminated in a meaningful exchange of ideas as student leaders from the different campuses of the Technological University of the Philippines participated in the Final Consultation on the Student Handbook. Through collaborative discussions, thoughtful deliberations, and constructive recommendations, the delegates worked together to review and refine policies that promote student welfare while supporting the University's commitment to academic excellence, accountability, and good governance.

The consultation provided an important avenue for student leaders to contribute their insights and ensure that the Student Handbook remains relevant, responsive, and reflective of the evolving needs of the TUP student community. It reaffirmed the Federation's shared commitment to fostering inclusive policies and strengthening student participation in institutional governance.

The General Assembly concluded with the awarding of certificates in recognition of the delegates' active participation, unwavering dedication, and invaluable contributions throughout the three-day assembly. This closing ceremony celebrated not only the successful completion of the event but also the commitment of every student leader to advancing meaningful initiatives and promoting responsive student governance.

As the 2nd FSG General Assembly officially came to a close, the delegates departed with strengthened partnerships, renewed purpose, and a deeper commitment to lead with integrity, serve with excellence, and champion the interests of the TUP student body. May the knowledge gained, connections forged, and collective aspirations cultivated throughout the assembly continue to inspire transformative leadership and lasting progress across all TUP campuses.

The second day of the 2nd Federation of Student Governments (FSG) General Assembly marked another significant milestone as the newly elected FSG Executive Officers formally took their Oath of Office, symbolizing their commitment to uphold integrity, accountability, and student-centered leadership in service to the Technological University of the Philippines community.

Following the oath-taking ceremony, the General Assembly proceeded with its legislative sessions, where delegates from the different TUP campuses engaged in comprehensive deliberations on proposed resolutions, policies, and initiatives aimed at strengthening student representation, promoting good governance, and advancing the welfare of the student body.

Through meaningful discussions, constructive debates, and collaborative decision-making, the delegates carefully evaluated each proposal, ensuring that every measure reflected the collective interests and aspirations of the students they represent. The deliberation sessions underscored the value of participatory leadership, where diverse perspectives were welcomed and consensus was built through mutual respect and shared responsibility.

Student leaders from across the Technological University of the Philippines gathered at the Berjaya Makati Hotel on June 28, 2026 for the opening of the 2nd Federation of Student Governments (FSG) General Assembly with the theme, "𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀."

The first day commenced with the privilege speech of the Student Regent, Hon. Mark Ivan A. Rosete, who inspired the delegates to lead with integrity, purpose, and a shared vision for the TUP community.

Following the opening program, the University Student Governments from the different TUP campuses presented their accomplishment reports, highlighting the initiatives, programs, and milestones they have achieved in advancing student welfare, leadership, and campus development.

The day concluded with an engaging team-building activity designed to strengthen camaraderie, enhance collaboration, and foster meaningful connections among student leaders from the various campuses.

As the assembly officially began, Day 1 set the tone for meaningful dialogue, collaborative policymaking, and a stronger commitment to servant leadership. Together, the delegates continue to embody unity, excellence, and service as they work toward a more empowered TUP student community.

Pursuant to the formal petition initiated by the Office of the Student Regent regarding the implementation of a climate-responsive dress code, the 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴 has officially promulgated 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟬, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. This directive adopts, in principle, the guidelines proposed by this office, incorporating refined provisions to ensure safety, propriety, and institutional enforceability across all campuses. This measure is consistent with the precedents established under Memorandum No. 17, s. 2019, and Memorandum No. 14, s. 2025, underscoring the University's commitment to prioritizing student health amidst the prevailing thermal exigencies.

The approved policy shall formally take effect on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, and will remain in force until further notice or until meteorological conditions significantly improve. This proactive intervention is designed to alleviate the physiological strain on the student body, particularly within learning environments where ventilation may be limited and exposure to extreme heat is prolonged. By authorizing this transition, the University aims to maintain an environment conducive to academic excellence while acknowledging the serious health risks posed by the current climate crisis.

While a transition to civilian attire is permitted, 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙙𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢. At a minimum, clothing must be decent, appropriate for an academic setting, and non-revealing, with enclosed footwear required at all times for campus safety. It is important to note that 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙚𝙙 𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙥𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 (𝙋𝙋𝙀) 𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮 for laboratory classes, workshops, and similar technical activities where specific safety protocols must be upheld.

𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀-𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗽𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝘄𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲.
