UPDATE 14 August, 4:56 PM: We have just rescheduled the Open House to the 5th of September to avoid risking anyone's safety.

Just to be clear, the August 15 Open House event is moved to September 5th.

Same venue, same program. Your Econ profs will be there :-D

The post below was posted around lunchtime on 14 August, and we kindly remind our participants that we have just rescheduled the event.

Participants have been emailed about the changes, and let us know if you havent received any.

*********************14 August, midday post***********************
Hi everyone, you might be wondering how we go about our Open House tomorrow. We just sent the participants information about tomorrow's plans; please check your respective emails. We're all excited to meet all of you, but we're also cautious and mindful of everyone's safety.

So here's our plan:

Schedule and Contingency Plans

At this time, the Open House is scheduled to proceed as planned. However, in view of the recent heavy rains, class suspensions, and possible localized flooding, we are closely monitoring weather and travel conditions.

Please take note of the following precautions:

Your safety comes first. Please do not travel if your area is experiencing flooding, heavy rainfall, unsafe road conditions, or significant transport disruptions.
Attendance is entirely voluntary. If weather conditions in your area make travel difficult or unsafe, please prioritize your safety.
Please allow additional travel time and check road, public transport, and weather conditions before leaving home.
Students who are minors should coordinate closely with their parents or guardians regarding travel.
We encourage participants to bring an umbrella or rain protection and to dress appropriately for wet weather.

Contingency Plan

We will make a final assessment of conditions early tomorrow morning based on official weather advisories, government announcements, campus guidance, and prevailing travel conditions. If the August 15 class and work cancellations are announced later today, the Open House will be rescheduled.

If the Open House proceeds:
We will send a confirmation through our official communication channels. Participants may attend as scheduled, subject to safe travel conditions in their respective areas.

If conditions deteriorate or in-person activities are suspended:
The Open House will be postponed and rescheduled to a later date. Registered participants will receive a separate announcement with the new arrangements. There will be no need to register again unless otherwise advised.

Please check your email and our official announcements before leaving for DLSU tomorrow morning before 7 am.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to the Carlos L. Tiu School of Economics and introducing you to the DLSU Economics experience.

At the same time, we want everyone’s visit to be safe, comfortable, and worthwhile.

Thank you for your understanding, and we hope to see you tomorrow.
