The Economics Research Society (ECONRES) is an established and recognized student organization in the Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The PUP ECONRES commits itself for the furtherance and development of the whole Economics studentry. The ECONRES was organized in 1985 with the name Society of Economists, Statistician, and Financers (SECONSTAF). ECONRES has a colorful history and has bee

n the pioneer of innovation among student organization inside the University. Most of its former officers are now successful practitioners in their chosen fields, some of them even pursued in post-graduate studies and ended up to be promising lawyers, brilliant professor, and outstanding economists, and entrepreneurs. The Organization has been consistent in producing effective student leaders and in leading the Department of Economics studentry into greater heights, creating an identity of excellence not only in the college and the University but in the entire nation as well.
