The UST CCWLS is inviting you to its opening salvo for this academic year, the International Writers and Scholars Series. Renowned poet, playwright, and novelist R. Zamora Linmark will deliver a lecture, "The Importance of Being Wilde at Heart: Genesis of a Novel." This is happening on Wednesday, September 23, 1:30 PM, at the Tanghalang Teresita Quirino. Everyone is invited!
R. Zamora Linmark has published three genre-defying novels: "Rolling the R’s," which he’d adapted for the stage, "Leche," and "The Importance of Being Wilde at Heart." He’s also written and published four poetry collections and three plays, including "But, Beautiful," which is loosely based on Kafka’s The Metamorphosis. In Spring 2027, Kaya Press will publish the groundbreaking "Eh, No Talk Li’Dat," which he compiled and edited, about the history of Hawai‘i’s creole language that was born from the sugar plantation camps in the 1920s and co-authored by Native Hawaiians and migrant indentured servants. Current projects include a play, "Fag/Hag," and "Bitch Slap," a book of poems. He divides his time between Honolulu and Manila.
