𝘼 𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩, 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮 🕊️

We, the Adamson University Senior High School Supreme Student Government, together with the entire AdU-SHS Department, extend our deepest sorrow and heartfelt call for support for our late Klasmeyt, Mark Dave Nicolas, a promising Adamsonian athlete, who passed away on April 29, 2026, at the age of 18 due to compartment syndrome.

He was a standout trackster, who brought honor and pride to his hometown and the university after setting a record in the 800-meter run at the Palarong Pambansa 2025 and earning a silver medal in the 14th ASEAN Schools Games.

In this time of mourning and great loss, we humbly ask for prayers, compassion, and support for his grieving family. Monetary donation information is attached below:

The Adamson University Senior High School Supreme Student Government proudly celebrates the students who showcased their excellence and dedication at 𝙆𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙖𝙣 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙙𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙥 2026, hosted by the University of the Philippines – Diliman last April 24–25, 2026.

Statement on War and Oil Price Hike

War is often seen as a distant conflict—but its consequences are felt even in our everyday lives. The continuous war between countries in the Middle East, specifically Iran and Israel, is a long-standing conflict aimed at regional dominance. In line with this, the conflict intensified with the involvement of the United States, which became a crucial supporter of Israel, supporting them with weapons and missiles. One of the most noticeable effects is the increase in oil prices, which directly impacts transportation, basic goods, and daily expenses. As a country who heavily relies on imported oil, the Philippines is extremely vulnerable to these changes. Reports from Reuters indicate that global conflicts disrupt oil supply chains, leading to unstable fuel prices worldwide. For many Filipinos, this is not just something we hear in the news—it is something we experience through higher fares and more expensive necessities. A recent report from Inquirer net reveals that oil prices across the country are expected to rise as the end of March approaches. This could result in the price per liter of diesel increasing by up to ₱11–12, while gasoline may increase by around ₱3 per liter. As Adamsonians who embody Competence, Character, and Charity, the Adamson University - Senior High School Supreme Student Government (AdU - SHS SSG) opposes the conflicts in different parts of the world and the oil price hike phenomenon.

War causes conflict and destruction, that does not only hinder a nation’s stability but also hinders the progress of world peace. This continuous conflict led to various problems such as the destruction of properties, loss of lives, and limited oil transit, which affected the lives of many. In context to the Philippines, it is evident that this war takes a toll in our everyday lives—the daily struggles of jeepney drivers, commuters dealing with rising fares, and families needing to adjust with increasing living expenses—While the conflict originates abroad, its consequences are can still be felt with neighboring countries and countries who heavily rely on imported fuels. The refusal to immediately implement fare hikes by President Ferdinand Marcos, despite rising fuel costs, further intensifies the burden on both transportation operators and the commuting public, creating a cycle of economic pressure that affects multiple sectors of society. In line with this, the Adamson University - Senior High School Supreme Student Government (AdU - SHS SSG) strongly opposes the ongoing situation we face; soaring fuel prices are far beyond the expectations of many. This issue does not just circulate on the topic of war, but it also extends to the movement of every nation's economy. All people—jeepney drivers, commuters, employees, and students directly suffer from this effect of the war.

Now, as time goes by and societies remain in the midst of war, its consequences become increasingly evident. Beyond territorial conflict, these tensions make life harder, especially for communities already facing economic challenges. In the Philippine context, rising oil prices have limited access to basic needs, affecting transportation, daily expenses, and overall quality of life. And due to this, a significant number of lives are being obstructed from basic necessities due to a lack of planning, consideration, and open-mindedness. Such events cannot move forward left unnoticed. As support for global peace and unison, the Adamson University - Senior High School Supreme Student Government (AdU - SHS SSG) continues to stand with proper actions that benefit all standards of life, whether wealthy or poor, and calls students to stand against any poverty-level planning and territorial wars.
