The Department of Political Science under the College of Political Science and Public Administration (CPSPA) was honored to be invited to provide student protocols for the ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ, held on ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ต, ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, at ๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐น, ๐ ๐ฎ๐ธ๐ฎ๐๐ถ ๐๐ถ๐๐.
The invitation came following the ๐ฃ๐จ๐ฃ ๐๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐บ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ, where ๐๐ถ๐ ๐๐
๐ฐ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐ทฤ, ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐๐ฏ๐น๐ถ๐ฐ ๐๐ผ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ถ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ๐, served as one of the distinguished speakers during the forumโs discussions on education and cultural diplomacy. In appreciation of the student participantsโ remarkable work during the forum, His Excellency extended an invitation for its student protocols to take part in the Czech Republicโs National Day Reception.

The student protocols took on various responsibilities throughout the reception, including ๐น๐ถ๐ฎ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด๐๐ถ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ด๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐, ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ด๐ถ๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ensuring that guests were properly accommodated and guided throughout the program.
The reception formally opened with the remarks of ๐.๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ฒ๐ทฤ. This was followed by the remarks of the Guest of Honor, ๐๐ผ๐ป. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ ๐ฆ. ๐๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ, Undersecretary for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Together with ๐.๐. ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ฟ๐น๐ฒ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ป ๐๐๐, Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines, the first part of the reception culminated in a ceremonial b**r toast, followed by food and drinks, and the eveningโs raffle draw.
More than an opportunity to assist in a formal diplomatic gathering, the experience became a meaningful avenue for the student participants to translate classroom and organizational learning into actual diplomatic protocol practice. It demonstrated how opportunities created within the university can extend beyond the campus and allow students to engage directly in professional and diplomatic spaces.

His guidance helped the students understand the program flow, clarify protocol concerns, prepare for their respective assignments, and carry out their responsibilities with greater confidence throughout the reception.
The PSS also extends its appreciation to the alumni from International Studies and Protocol Heads of the PUP Diplomacy Forum 2026, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ธ๐ถ ๐๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐น๐น๐ฎ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ต ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐๐ฎ, whose experience and guidance provided valuable support to the student participants as they took on their roles in the reception.
As a next step, the College is set to prepare its points for collaboration with the Embassy of the Czech Republic and explore the development of a ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐บ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐จ๐ป๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด (๐ ๐ข๐จ) to support continued collaboration in future initiatives.
The PUP PSS Office of the Vice President for External Affairs remains committed to building connections with external partners to open more opportunities for PUP Political Science students that see their future in diplomacy or public relations.
