ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Ida Anita del Mundo is a Filipino American filmmaker and writer committed to culturally resonant work that amplifies overlooked stories. She wrote and directed K’na, the Dreamweaver, the first feature film about the T’boli people and the first to use the T’boli language, earning awards at Cinemalaya 2014 and the 2015 Female Eye Film Festival. Ida holds an MFA in Creative Writing from De La Salle University–Manila and an MPS in Directing from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her short films Never Forget and Anna, Greta, Sophie, and the Rainforest have screened internationally and received multiple awards. An active member of the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema, she has served on NETPAC juries at major festivals. Based in New York, she works as a freelance filmmaker, editor, and graphic designer, and teaches documentary filmmaking at the Educational Video Center.
Wanggo Gallaga is a screenwriter, film critic, and educator. He has written six short films, a documentary, three series, and four full-length features, including Sonata, for which he was nominated for Best Screenplay at the ASEAN International Film Festival and Awards. He is the resident film and theater critic for ClickTheCity and contributes feature articles on cinema and theater to Inquirer Lifestyle. He also teaches in the Film Department at De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde.
