"Eid" means festival or celebration, while "Fitr" refers to the breaking of the fast.

Eid al-Fitr lasts for one day, on the first day of Shawwal. The crescent moon was spotted on March 29, 2025, and Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr on March 30, 2025. In India, Eid is expected to be celebrated on March 31, 2025.
