MSU–Maguindanao takes a strategic step in strengthening its research and innovation landscape with the approval of BOR Resolution No. 122, s. 2026, formally restructuring the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE) into the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗢𝗩𝗖𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘).

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Sustainable Global Engagement (OVCRISE) is established as a strategic transformation of the University’s research leadership, positioning it as a key driver of MSU–Maguindanao’s vision to become a premier innovative center of development in the region. This realignment reflects a strong investment in organizational effectiveness, ensuring higher accountability standards, accelerating the uptake of innovation, and strengthening international partnerships.

As part of this modernization, the University adopts a clearer and more focused structure by separating research and extension functions. OVCRISE will lead knowledge creation and innovation systems, providing clearer strategic direction, clearer governance, and stronger ex*****on as the University’s research ecosystem grows.

The OVCRISE is mandated to oversee the University’s advanced knowledge generation, technology commercialization, and internationalization efforts. It will focus on translating research into high-impact policies, securing and managing intellectual property, and elevating the University’s global standing through cross-border collaborations, international grants, and academic rankings.

This mandate serves as the University’s central engine for research and innovation, driving competitive grants, ensuring compliance with and adherence to ethical standards, strengthening publication output, protecting and commercializing intellectual property, and building strong global linkages. This restructuring establishes a clear and efficient pipeline: from knowledge creation and innovation to sustainability metrics and global engagement, positioning MSU–Maguindanao for greater impact both nationally and internationally.

MSU-IIT celebrates another milestone in academic excellence! 🏆

Four more programs have successfully passed the ASEAN University Network–Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Programme Assessment!

All of the undergraduate programs of the College of Arts and Social Sciences, in particular, have now officially passed the AUN-QA assessment!

The assessment was successfully passed by the following CASS programs: Bachelor of Arts in History, the Bachelor of Science in Philosophy major in Applied Ethics, and the Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Meanwhile, the College of Education’s Bachelor of Elementary Education major in Language Education is the first program of the College to pass the assessment.

This achievement and endeavor are a result of our ingrained collaborative spirit, and this success belongs to every member of our community!

More programs across the University are scheduled to undergo the same stringent assessment and evaluation process. This comprehensive quality assurance measure is a vital part of our commitment to maintaining and elevating the standards of academic excellence.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗲𝗶𝗸𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲 of Japan has received complimentary copies of her publication titled “𝘜𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘚𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦-𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘪𝘲𝘶𝘦 𝘈𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘸 𝘞𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴,” featured in the latest edition of 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘈𝘳𝘵 & 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦.

In a personal conversation with the Institute Director, Ms. Watanabe expressed her appreciation for her continuing partnership with the University and has conveyed her intention to visit the Main Campus in the future to meet with researchers and deliver lectures to those who share similar scholarly interests.

𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘈𝘳𝘵 & 𝘊𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 is one of the flagship publications of MSU-Main Campus, Marawi City, managed by the 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖). We warmly invite interested authors and researchers to submit their works for possible publication in this historic journal.

We are immensely proud to announce that the Mindanao State University - Main Campus College of Medicine has produced 24 new physicians in the March 2026 Philippine Physician Licensure Examination (PLE). The university achieved an outstanding performance with a 93.33% passing rate for first-time takers and an 82.76% overall passing rate.

​Congratulations to our new doctors! Your hard work, resilience, and dedication have finally paid off. Go forth and serve the Bangsamoro and our nation with compassion and excellence.

𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | Satra J. Sailadjan, Amilbahar I. Julpatiri, Enraida S. Imbuk, Patin T. Marsuki, Fatmawati O. Albar, Ladjahawan H. Arsad, and Nurmaida T. Muktadir, faculty members from the College of Fisheries, have co-authored and published a research paper entitled "Gleaning-based assessment of sea urchin density and species composition in Bato-Bato, Indanan, Sulu, Philippines " in Aquaculture, Aquarium, Conservation & Legislation (AACL) Bioflux, a Scopus-index journal.
