San Beda Law Debate Circle The Official Debating Team of the San Beda University - College of Law. The Official Debating Team of the San Beda College of Law. We can't wait to meet you!

The Law Debate Circle (LDC) is San Beda College of Law's premier debating association, it's sole representative to various national and international debating tournaments. The club competes in all the leading debating formats - parliamentary and legal (Oregon-Oxford) and membership is open to all interested law students of San Beda College. Together with its sister organizations, the San Beda Debate Society (SBDS) and the San Beda Alabang Debate Association, the club dedicates its efforts to promoting discourse and debate as an academic culture, and indeed beyond that, a way of life. Recent achievements of the club include winning the ANC Square Off Season 8 Championship, as well as breaking into the semifinal rounds of the Philippine Inter-Collegiate Debating Championship. We will be holding a recruitment drive as soon as the semester begins, so to get involved, simply approach our members and ask for a brochure. We hold a wide range of social events which include training seminars and practice rounds, as well as sending members of all experience levels to different competitions.

When the counterfactual shows that the world without it would have been better overall.

๐ˆ๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฌ, fifty-four years after the declaration of Martial Law, we look back at the exercise of state power and its consequences for Filipinos. The suppression of dissent, censorship, arbitrary arrests, torture, and enforced disappearances remain part of that history.

As a debate community, we advocate for the freedom to question power, challenge narratives, and examine the alternatives history leaves us. Debate gives us the space to ask not only what happened, but whether it should have happened at all.

Because some questions are worth asking, even decades later.

The Law Debate Circle is pleased to announce an extension for todayโ€™s tryouts. To accommodate more aspiring advocates, the session will remain open until 6:00 PM at Room 41-I.

In the spirit of inclusivity, the Circle is open to all walk-in applicants. Prior registration is not a prerequisite for entry; interested students may proceed directly to the venue for their screening.
