Tindig Nasyunal | Shut The Pax Down!

Artificial intelligence is shaping the future, and a race between nations start as they secure resources in order to develop this new technology. The Philippine government pursues this via the Pax Silica initiative with the promise of digital infrastructure, investments and jobs. However these promises are not set in stone and deserve extreme public scrutiny.

NUCSG recognizes the importance of development and innovation, however this is all nought if we are left with our nation dried off of our resources, taken advantage for the benefit of others. The Filipino people must be the center of all decisions.

As students, future leaders and most importantly citizens of the Philippines, let us remain informed and critical. The choices made today will shape the future we all will live in, make everything count.

We congratulate all the newly appointed committees of each respective committee bureaus. After those tough assessments and intense interviews, you can now take a sigh of relief as the results are finally out. We advise each and every applicant to check your school email to view the results and remarks from your respective committees.

We are now formally welcome to our one big happy community that has a goal to serve our fellow nationalian. And for those who didn’t successfully admit to their dream committee, don’t lose hope and your spark to serve our beloved community. Maybe in the upcoming wave is your chance to join us once again.

| RE: Request for Shift in Class Modality and Maximum Leniency for Students due to Nationwide Transport Strike from July 22-23, 2026

In light of the ongoing nationwide transport strike by MANIBELA, yesterday, the NUCSG gathered information from the community regarding their disposition and wellness in terms of ease and access to transportation to and from the campus. With the collected responses, earlier today, we formally filed a request for shift to class modality to ensure educational continuity, student safety, and inclusive access to learning, while also prioritizing the safety of the students during this period.

At 9:23 PM, we officially received a response, stating that the request has been denied. While the classes is to proceed as usual tomorrow, all deans have been advised to extend reasonable consideration to students affected by the difficulties brought about by the nationwide strike.

Despite this, the NUCSG will continuously monitor the situation and file an appeal if necessary.

| NUCSG’s OVP-DMCA Joins National CPR Day Observance

In observance of the National Resilience Month this July, the Manila City DRRM Department (MCDRRMD) held a National Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Day activity, where participants were given the basic and necessary knowledge on performing a CPR in times of emergency.

A hands-on training and demonstration of CPR and other life-saving techniques were performed, immersing everyone on "emergency preparedness and response capability" for a quicker and more effective intervention and assistance when needed.

The NUCSG's OVP-Disaster Management and Community Affairs Bureau were present at the National Museum of the Philippines to take part in the meaningful program, together with other officials from Manila LGU and government agencies. The event was also made possible with the local department's partnership with doctors from partner hospitals and responders from MCDRRMD's Emergency Medical Services (EMS).

An artistic escape from the hustle and bustle of Manila. πŸƒ

Last July 14, 2026, the National University Central Student Government (NUCSG), through the Student Development & Activities Office (SDAO), was invited by Collection O and Plastiq Zoo for an exclusive preview of their soon-to-open art + spaceβ€”a collaborative creative hub that envisions a space where art extends beyond the canvas, fostering meaningful opportunities, connections, and experiences within Manila's vibrant cultural and artistic community.

Through this project, the space aims to cultivate a thriving creative community by offering workshops, consultations, incubation sessions, exhibitions, and immersive art and cultural experiences that inspire and empower the youth.

Here's to NU beginnings. πŸ’™

LOOK | Last July 13, 2026, National University officially welcomed Academic Year 2026–2027 through Harana 2026, its annual kickoff celebration that brought together the Gold and Blue community to mark a new season of learning.

The event came alive with captivating performances from the NU Chorale, NU Dance Company, and the NU Percussion Department, alongside special guest performers who kept the energy high throughout the celebration. Nationalians also enjoyed interactive games, appearances from NU student-athletes, and exciting prizes made possible through the event's sponsors.

| ID PRINTING AND VALIDATION DEADLINE

The Student Discipline Office (SDO) released a memo signed in July 2026, advising all students to have their Student IDs printed on or before August 08, 2026.

It states that beginning August 10, 2026, "students who fail to secure a printed and validated student ID will be subject to the corresponding Minor Offense in accordance with the provisions of the Student Handbook."

As of writing, ID printing and validation location is still on 3rd floor, Nursing Amphitheatre, Main Building.

Please be guided accordingly.
