The College of Science Journal, founded in 1962, is the official student publication of the College of Science. It aims to promote social awareness among the Science students in the analysis of the implications and relevance of current issues to the college and in the society at large, to serve as a means of exchange not only between the Science students and the administration but most importantly

, among the students themselves, and to provide a venue for publication of in-depth articles on the concerns of the faculty and students alike. It is also the aim of the College of Science Journal to train interested students in:

1. the proper application of communication arts

2. the basic mechanism and skills in journalism

3. the responsibilities and privileges of students as journalists in relation to the contents of the articles to be published

4. the advocacy of social consciousness and uphold the interest of the Filipino people

5. and the development of their intelligence and student leadership responsibilities

More often than not, people studying or working in psychology are mistaken as mind-readers. As they usually say, โ€œBasahin mo nga kung ano ang naiisip ko.โ€ Many misconceptions have been debunked and supported by evidence in this discipline. But for this interlude, I would like to highlight the nuanced colors of Psychology. On the surface, people tend to see this field as a single color โ€” a one-dimensional hue strictly bound to counseling patients, solving emotional problems, or reading peopleโ€™s minds. Some would even assume that this discipline is just a ticket to an HR post or to becoming a guidance counselor. Because of this boxed mindset, people presume this discipline is โ€œsoftโ€ or, worse, reduced to mere โ€œcommon sense.โ€ We have to understand that Psychology is a spectrum of colors anchored firmly in the scientific method.
