Mapúa is the first school in Southeast Asia to obtain accreditation from ABET, a US-based non-profit, non-governmental agency that accredits college and university programs in applied and natural science, computing, engineering, and engineering technology. To date, Mapúa has the most number of ABET-accredited programs for a single campus in the Philippines, with 11 of its engineering programs accredited by ABET’s Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) and three of its computing programs accredited by ABET’s Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC). Mapúa also has the most number of engineering programs (Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Environmental and Sanitary Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering) recognized as Centers of Excellence by the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
