A Successful Freshmen Orientation, Oath-Taking, and Pinning Ceremony! 🎉
The De Ocampo Memorial College – College of Dentistry successfully conducted its Freshmen Orientation, Oath-Taking, and Pinning Ceremony for the incoming students and the newly elected Dentistry Student Council officers for Academic Year 2026–2027 last July 8, 2026.
The program formally began with the Opening Remarks delivered by Dr. Lina V. Anunciacion, Dean of the College of Dentistry. In her message, she warmly welcomed the freshmen and transferee students, encouraged them to embrace the opportunities and challenges of dental education, and inspired them to pursue academic excellence, professionalism, and integrity throughout their journey.
The orientation proper introduced the students to the College of Dentistry, its faculty members, academic policies, rules and regulations, mission and vision, and other important information that will guide them in their transition to college life. It also served as an opportunity for the Dentistry Student Council to introduce its officers and present its commitment to serving the student body throughout the academic year.
Following the orientation was the Oath-Taking Ceremony of the newly elected Dentistry Student Council officers for Academic Year 2026–2027. The officers formally took their oath, pledging to uphold the values of leadership, responsibility, and dedicated service to the students and the institution.
The program continued with the Pinning Ceremony, symbolizing the official assumption of office of the new Dentistry Student Council officers. To make the occasion even more meaningful, the former Dentistry Student Council President of Academic Year 2025–2026 Ms. Nikki Velasco was invited to personally pin the newly elected officers. This ceremonial act represented the passing of leadership, trust, and responsibility from the previous administration to the new set of student leaders.
The event concluded with the Closing Remarks delivered by Dr. Jonathan G. Alberto, who congratulated the new officers, welcomed the freshmen, and encouraged everyone to work together in fostering unity, excellence, and service within the College of Dentistry.
The successful conduct of the Freshmen Orientation, Oath-Taking, and Pinning Ceremony marked the beginning of a new academic year filled with hope, collaboration, and a shared commitment to academic and leadership excellence. The program officially ended with gratitude to all administrators, faculty members, student leaders, guests, and participants whose support and presence contributed to the success of the event.
