The UST Miguel de Benavides Library, specifically the Antonio Vivencio del Rosario Heritage Library, was honored to welcome the children of the late Antonio Memije Molina: Chaco Molina, Dr. Carmen Molina, Atty. Pilar Lalana-Molina, and her husband, Eng. Luis Ramรณn Lalana.
Their visit was a meaningful opportunity to reconnect with their fatherโs legacy through his personal book collection, generously donated by the Molina family to the Library in 2019.
A distinguished Thomasian, Antonio Memije Molina was a historian, lawyer, educator, writer, and diplomat who made significant contributions to the University of Santo Tomas. He earned his law degree from UST in 1940 and served as a professor from 1946 to 1970. He also held key positions, including Dean of the Faculty of Civil Law, Director of the Institute of History, and Vice-Rector for External Affairs.
His collection represents more than a body of books; it preserves a part of his intellectual journey and enduring commitment to knowledge. Through the familyโs generous donation, these materials remain accessible to students, researchers, and future generations, allowing his contributions to scholarship and the Thomasian community to be remembered.
The Library remains committed to preserving this collection and exploring meaningful ways to share Antonio Memije Molinaโs life, works, and legacy with the wider community.
