🎭🎨🎶 SIDLAK: Celebrating Learning, Inclusion, and Community Transformation Through the Arts
The Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) proudly celebrates the successful culmination of SIDLAK, the Year 1 showcase of the Arts for Community Development Program, a meaningful collaboration between De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde and De La Salle Andres Soriano Memorial College.
More than a culminating event, SIDLAK stands as a testament to the transformative power of arts-based education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and community engagement. Through immersive learning experiences in visual arts, music, dance, acting, production design, directing, and leadership, participants demonstrated how creativity can become a catalyst for empowerment, inclusion, and social development.
SDEAS is deeply honored to have contributed to this initiative and to have received recognition alongside our partners for our shared commitment to accessible, inclusive, and community-centered education. We extend our sincere gratitude to the facilitators, organizers, institutional partners, local government units, community leaders, and participants whose dedication, expertise, and generosity made this endeavor possible.
As we celebrate the successful completion of the program’s first year, we recognize that its greatest achievement lies not only in the artistic outputs presented, but in the relationships built, the capacities strengthened, and the opportunities created for meaningful participation and collective growth.
We look forward to continuing this journey in the years ahead, advancing the role of the arts as a vehicle for inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable community development.
💚 Together, we learn.
💚 Together, we create.
💚 Together, we build more inclusive communities.
