Led by the Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS) Social Responsibility and Outreach Program Coordinator, Mr. William Sidayon Jr., the Deaf and Hearing Camp, now in its 15th year, continues its long-standing partnership with the Stairway Foundation in Puerto Galera, Philippines under the theme “Every Contribution Matters.”

Held from April 26 to May 2, the program convened 60 participants from SDEAS, the Local Child Protection Project Peer Educators, and the Stairway Boys for a structured week of learning and engagement. The camp featured sessions and activities on children’s rights, Deaf awareness, basic sign language, environmental education through an eco-treasure hunt, Sea Adventure School, team-building exercises, and creative arts and crafts.

This milestone underscores SDEAS’ enduring commitment to inclusive education, community engagement, and participatory learning practices.

Whether spoken in whispers or expressed through the beautiful movement of our hands, a mother’s love is a language we all feel. 🤟✨

Today, we celebrate the moms, maternal figures, and mentors who teach us how to navigate the world—whether through the sound of their voice or the warmth of their sign. Love doesn't need a voice to be heard; it just needs a heart to be felt.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms out there! 🌸💖

Today we honor all the mothers and mother figures in our lives. Thank you for all the things that you do and for nurturing our curiosity and passions as we continue to dream and create like no other. Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸✨

BPAD in Motion: Panagutin

The piece presents a powerful allegory of greed and corruption through bold, animalistic movement that exposes the raw instincts behind power and control. BPAD in Motion is a term-end performance series under the BPAD Dance Festival, produced by the Bachelor of Performing Arts in Dance of the Benilde School of Arts, Culture, and Performance.

Representing Benilde SDEAS is Silent Steps, the resident Deaf performing arts and dance group of the De La Salle–College of Saint Benilde, which joins the production. Composed of Deaf student performers and led by a Deaf choreographer, the group advances Deaf awareness, empowerment, and cultural expression through dance and theatre.
