𝐁𝐌𝐂 𝟑: 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 🪢
One of the milestones of the 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝗯 (𝗠𝗨𝗠𝗖) in 𝟯𝗧𝟮𝟱𝟮𝟲 was the conduct of 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝟯: 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀, held on 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴-𝟮𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, facilitated by the 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀, 𝗜𝗻𝗰. (𝗧𝗥𝗥𝗧𝗣𝗜).
The training provided participants with an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of rope safety, equipment handling, knot tying, basic anchoring, and the use of Prusik systems, together with basic ascending, descending, and rappelling techniques. Beyond the technical skills, the training emphasized the importance of proper preparation, safety checks, teamwork, and responsible decision-making in technical outdoor activities.
Through hands-on instruction and practical application, participants gained a deeper understanding of how ropemanship skills can be applied in mountaineering and other outdoor situations.
The Mapúa University Mountaineering Club extends its sincere appreciation to TRRTPI and all the instructors and facilitators for generously sharing their knowledge, experience, and expertise.
This milestone marks another step in MUMC's continuing commitment to learning, training, and promoting safe and responsible mountaineering.
