The PLM - ITHM is the center for tourism and hospitality education of the capital city's premier scholars’ University. Guided by the principles of quality service and academic excellence, it envisions to produce globally competitive graduates, equipped with the knowledge and skills to become future leaders of society. Operating under the administrative management of the PLM Business School, the Institute was cited as one of the top tourism schools in the country by nationwide reviews and surveys. HISTORY OF PLM TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY

Due to the current trend and increasing demand for tourism professionals, PLM envisioned unique courses containing key elements of three disciplines namely; tourism, hotel and travel industry management. Eventually opening its doors in June 2001, the College of Tourism, Hotel and Travel Industry Management of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila was originally a department under the then-College of Arts and Sciences. It had an initial population of one hundred and sixteen (116) students; however, because of the very strict retention policy of the college, only seventy-nine (79) students are left out of the pioneer batch. The college aims to train students and equip them with skills to be employed in the tourism, hotel, and travel industry or to put up their own tourism establishments. It also provides the student's knowledge in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), environmental awareness, and the business industry. What is most emphasized is showcasing the cultural and tourist spots while appreciating the diversity brought about by international travel. The main unique aspect of this course is the college's commitment to producing professionals who are to be employed for a managerial position with an emphasis on character and personality. As a graduate of CTHTIM, the individual is not only professional and skilled in the three disciplines but morally and spiritually upright as well.

“Education is a weapon whose effects depend on who holds it in his hands, and at whom it is aimed.”

A beautiful day to everyone! It is our pleasure to present the academic achievers of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management for the second semester of A.Y 2020-2021. Despite the challenges brought by the emerging pandemic, we have come to a conclusion where our blood, sweat and tears were worth it and turned into a magnificent victory that we all can be proud of. Iskolars, let us continue to pour our efforts on struggling for a mass oriented, scientific and nationalistic education deserved by each and everyone of us. Let us prove that we are truly worthy of being true scholars of the masses, by genuinely and hardworkingly pursuing our dreams, and weaponizing the knowledge and experiences we hone through the years by serving the people today as students, and as future professionals when the time comes.

Congratulations and fly high, everyone, as the sky has no limits. You deserve every bit of success that you have right now, and all the beautiful things that will come to your way in the near future.
