On August 22, 2026, De La Salle University Manila welcomed a vibrant community of young innovators for ROBOLUTION MANILA 2026, bringing together 38 schools and 102 teams for a day of robotics, creativity, collaboration, and engineering.

Organized by SME DLSU Chapter in partnership with Erovoutika, the competition challenged participants to design, build, and compete while putting their technical knowledge and creative problem-solving skills to the test.

Congratulations to our top-performing teams:

🏆 Overall Champion: Dasmariñas Integrated High School
🥈 Overall 1st Runner-Up: Pasay City National Science High School
🥉 Overall 2nd Runner-Up: Minuyan National High School

ROBOLUTION MANILA 2026 was made possible through the collective efforts of the participating teams, coaches, advisers, organizers, partners, volunteers, and supporters who helped create an environment where young innovators could learn, compete, collaborate, and build.

With the competition serving as a stepping stone toward the international stage, the journey continues this November in Dubai and Italy, where our champions will have the opportunity to represent the Philippines.

From Manila to the world, the future of robotics and engineering continues to take shape. 🤖🌏🚀

On August 22, 2026, De La Salle University Manila became a hub of robotics, creativity, and future-ready engineering as SME DLSU Chapter, a student-led organization under the Department of Biomedical, Manufacturing, and Robotics Engineering (DBMRE), in partnership with Erovoutika, brought together 38 schools and 102 teams for ROBOLUTION MANILA 2026.

The event brought together aspiring young engineers to explore robotics through hands-on challenges, encouraging them to apply their knowledge, collaborate with their peers, and develop innovative solutions to real-world problems.

Through initiatives like ROBOLUTION, SME-DLSU provides a platform for students to engage in innovation, develop their engineering skills, and gain meaningful experiences that prepare them to contribute beyond the classroom. 🤖🌏🚀

Dr. Ira V. Estropia, Chair and Associate Professor of the Department of Biomedical, Manufacturing, and Robotics Engineering, has been recognized as one of the Inspiring Filipina Engineers by the Philippine Technological Council – Women Engineers Network (PTC-WEN).

The award honors outstanding women engineers from various disciplines who have demonstrated excellence in their careers, contributed to their professional organizations, and inspired future generations through their achievements and dedication. These distinguished engineers exemplify competence, integrity, and service, reflecting the highest ideals of the engineering profession.

The recognition was conferred during the 20th International Conference of Women Engineers and Scientists (ICWES20), held alongside the 10th Philippine Women Engineers and Scientists Summit (PWESS10) in Clark, Pampanga.

Congratulations, Dr. Estropia, on this well-deserved recognition! May your accomplishments continue to inspire more women to pursue careers in STEM and make meaningful contributions to the engineering profession and society.

𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Reflecting on an enriching international academic exchange in South Korea last October 2025.

The Department of Biomedical Manufacturing and Robotics Engineering successfully conducted its Field Trip and Cultural Exchange Program from October 24–30, 2025, providing students with a meaningful opportunity to expand their knowledge in biomedical engineering through global exposure, research engagement, and cultural immersion.

The delegation explored various cultural landmarks in Busan and Gimhae, including Yongdusan Park, Haedong Yonggungsa Temple, Taejongdae Park, Gimhae Cultural Village, and Songdo Skywalk, allowing participants to experience the rich culture and heritage of South Korea firsthand.

One of the highlights of the program was the academic visit to Inje University Gimhae Campus and the Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency (GBIA), where students toured advanced research and learning facilities such as the:
🔹 Library and e-Learning Support Center Studio
🔹 Department of Medical Biotechnology
🔹 Dream Factory
🔹 Department of Biomedical Engineering

Students also participated in hands-on experimental activities under the Animal, Cell, and ALPAS Groups, gaining valuable insights into real-world biomedical research and laboratory applications.

The program concluded with student presentations that showcased the knowledge, experiences, and learnings gained throughout the exchange.

This is a testament to the department’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and global learning opportunities.
