On this day, marks the annual observance of Labor Day where we honor the invaluable efforts, dedication, and contributions of Filipino workers in the nationโ€™s progress.

Recognized as a national holiday, today also stand as a call for increased wages, better working conditions, job creations, and stronger labor protection policies to adapt amidst economic changes.

Driven by their hands, hearts, and continuous sacrifices, the Filipino workers remain as the backbone of the Philippine economy; thus may their hard work be reflected in their livelihood.

Last April 13, UE International Studies students were honored to attend the interactive workshop, "๐๐ซ๐ข๐๐ ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ ๐’๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ฌ๐ญ ๐€๐ฌ๐ข๐š: ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ก-๐€๐’๐„๐€๐ ๐๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐’๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ž๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ," held at the Fairmont Hotel, Makati.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the ๐„๐ฆ๐›๐š๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฅ๐š๐๐ž๐ฌ๐ก for inviting us to witness this momentous step toward a stronger ASEAN partnership. The insights shared are invaluable to our growth as future practitioners of international relations.

The program was enlightened by the distinguished keynote speech of ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐„๐ฑ๐œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ฒ ๐Œ๐จ๐ก๐š๐ฆ๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐’๐š๐ซ๐ฐ๐š๐ซ ๐Œ๐š๐ก๐ฆ๐จ๐จ๐, the Bangladesh Ambassador to the Philippines, followed by the insightful remarks of guest speaker ๐Œ๐ฌ. ๐’๐ก๐š๐ง๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐š ๐‡๐š๐ช๐ฎ๐ž, Director General of the Regional Organizations Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

It was also a particular point of pride for our community to see our very own ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐ซ ๐Ž๐๐ซ๐ž๐ข ๐€๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐จ ๐’๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ grace the stage as a guest speaker for the second session, where he shared his expertise on the pathways toward becoming a Sectoral Dialogue Partner.

It was also a distinct pleasure to once again meet ๐‡.๐„. ๐ƒ๐š๐ญ๐จโ€™ ๐€๐›๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐Œ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ค ๐Œ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ข๐ง ๐‚๐š๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐จ ๐€๐ง๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ง๐ฒ, Ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, and ๐…๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐ซ๐ž๐ญ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐“๐š๐ง ๐…๐จ๐จ ๐Š๐จ๐ž๐ง๐ . A revolution refers to a rapid, radical change or a dramatic shift in a system, whether in government, society, technology, or even education.

Throughout history, revolutions have become a vital part of society, driven by people known as revolutionaries and activists, a group of individuals who seek sudden change in society and government.

Revolutions are essential because they often serve as a strong response against repression, discrimination, and abuse of power.

For example, one of the most important and well-known examples of this is the EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986. It is one of the most significant events in Philippine history, as it restored democracy and showed that people can create change without aggression.

UE CCSS IT Students and CAS IS Students joins the ASEAN AI HACKATHON 2026

Students from the University of the East take part in ASEAN AI Hackathon 2026, organized by Passage to ASEAN (P2A) and guided by the theme โ€œAI for a Resilient ASEAN: Innovation,
Sustainability, and Humanity.โ€

The team, DiplomaTech, will be competing under the AI for Education (Future Learning) track. The name โ€œDiplomaTechโ€ symbolizes the fusion of diplomacy from the International Studies students and the technological skills of the Information Technology students. Through this collaboration between the College of Computer Studies and Systems and the College of Arts and Sciences, the team aims to support a resilient and inclusive ASEAN by leveraging AI for accessible education.

Guided by their faculty mentors, Prof. Mary Emily Geraldine C. Perez and Prof. Edmon L. Torres, the team focuses on developing practical and accessible learning tools that help ensure greater inclusion as technology continues to advance.
