International on-the-job trainings are part of Mapúa’s long-term initiatives to ensure students’ professional readiness and competitiveness. This program gives students additional knowledge on their future professions as well as the environment and working culture abroad. Students who have had their OJT abroad have an edge over those who have not. With their international exposure, these students have a global outlook and have a higher chance of being employed – locally and internationally. Mapúa has since sent 180 students for international OJTs particularly in China, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, USA, and Vietnam. INTERNATIONAL PLANT VISIT
International plant visits are part of the Institute’s curriculum to provide students with relevant academic experiences in the field. Several plants in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Thailand are a regular go-to of Mapúans for their international plant visits. These visits aim to match the theoretical knowledge learned inside the classroom with the actual production systems and business processing of plants. Aside from these, the Institute aims to let the students appreciate their chosen fields and show them global best practices. Mapúa has since sent 1,173 students for international plant visits particularly in Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand.
