Exploring the Beauty of the Industry ✨
The freshmen students from the College of International Tourism and Hospitality Management (CITHM) came together on the second day of the 37th Philippine Travel Mart 2026, held at the SMX Convention Center Manila.
The students had the opportunity to explore the different booths and learn more about the tourism and hospitality industry. The event featured a variety of exhibitors, including hotels and resorts, airlines, cruise lines, travel agencies, and different tourism destinations and regions in the Philippines.
The freshmen also had an exclusive talk with Ms. Tina Decal, past president of TOQPPI and renowned as the "Tagay Queen" of Quezon Province, who promotes Quezon's lambanog culture through Tagayan — a ritual and intangible cultural heritage practice centered on sharing and fellowship, where one says “Naay po” and the response is “Pakinabangan po.”
Through this visit, the students were able to discover the unique attractions, products, delicacies, culture, and tourism offerings of different regions while gaining a better understanding of the opportunities and experiences within the tourism and hospitality industry.
The Philippine Travel Mart 2026 provided the students with an enjoyable and meaningful experience as they explored, learned, and connected with the diverse tourism industry of the Philippines.
