Witness the final stage of the search for 2026 NAST Talent Search for Young Scientists on 22 April 2026. Five finalists will present their entry research papers before a distinguished panel of judges to determine this year's winner.

Students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering had the opportunity to explore the Metropolitan Outer Area Underground Discharge Channel—an enormous underground system designed to protect Tokyo City from devastating floods.

Known as the G-Cans Project, this remarkable facility channels excess floodwater safely away from urban areas, showcasing how innovative engineering can safeguard millions of people. For our students, the visit was more than just a tour—it was a chance to witness firsthand how mechanical engineering plays a vital role in solving real-world problems, one drop at a time.
