ORADEC made it through the Philippine Debate Open outrounds stage with a splendid run last May 22-24!

We extend our proudest congratulations to Team FEU AMS consisting of Kurt Adrian Abalos (IV - Political Science), Denise Angel Montes (IV - Interdisciplinary Studies) and Chelsea Samorano (III - International Studies), as well as Team Diversity Quota consisting of Anri Semba (IV - International Studies), Mario Oriana III (UC) and Claudia Izquierdo (ACSL) for ending their run as PDO 2026โ€™s Open Quarterfinalists.

Of course we cannot fall short on adjudication, we know JP Barrosa (I - Chemistry) has our backs in that aspect! ORADEC congratulates Barrosa for being PDO 2026โ€™s Novice Finals Panelist, along with the rest of our adjudicators who joined us throughout our PDO journey!

ORADEC also commends the rest of its competing teams, FEU GGE(z), FEU LDA and FEU JDIโ€”with Gerlu Elardo (II - Microbiology) bagging the Overall Best Novice Speaker award and Eddie Lachica (II - Psychology) being hailed as the Third Best Novice Speaker of the entire competition.

These accomplishments shall remind you of the progress you have made and you will be making for the future competitions to come.

March marks a memorable kick-off for ORADECโ€™s marvelous debating and adjudicating skills during their Hiraya Debate Cup run this February 28 to March 1!

๐„๐๐๐ข๐ž ๐’๐ข๐ฌ๐œ๐š๐ซ ๐‹๐š๐œ๐ก๐ข๐œ๐š ๐ˆ๐ˆ๐ˆ (II - Psychology), ๐€๐๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐š ๐‚๐ซ๐ฎ๐ณ (III - Psychology) and ๐‚๐ก๐ž๐ฅ๐ฌ๐ž๐š ๐’๐š๐ฆ๐จ๐ซ๐š๐ง๐จ (III - International Studies) proved their incredible team dynamic as the 4th Open Breaking Team of HDC. Itโ€™s no easy feat to secure a break, so although ๐„๐ฎ๐ฃ๐š๐ง๐ž ๐‰๐š๐œ๐จ๐› (I - Political Science), ๐‚๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Š๐ž๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ญ๐ก ๐†๐จ๐ง๐ณ๐š๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ (I - Chemistry) and ๐†๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฎ ๐„๐ฅ๐š๐ซ๐๐จ (II - Microbiology) had to end their preliminary run on a close call, their skills in debating have undoubtedly done more than enough to show HDC the excellence that they have inside themโ€”with ๐†๐ž๐ซ๐ฅ๐ฎ ๐„๐ฅ๐š๐ซ๐๐จ even going as far as securing the 10th Best Open Speaker award for the team!

Two teams were sent by the council to fight for ORADEC's name. The first team is composed of ๐‘ท๐’‚๐’–๐’๐’‚ ๐‘ฑ๐’‚๐’Ž๐’Š๐’† ๐‘ฎ๐’–๐’›๐’Ž๐’‚๐’ (IV - Mass Communication), ๐‘ซ๐’†๐’๐’Š๐’”๐’† ๐‘จ๐’๐’ˆ๐’†๐’ ๐‘ด๐’๐’๐’•๐’†๐’” (IV - Interdisciplinary Studies), and ๐‘ฎ๐’†๐’“๐’๐’– ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’‚๐’“๐’…๐’ (II - Microbiology). They were able to fight for the first spot in open break team, being tied with the 16th qualifier, but was unfortunately outweighed by the Average Margin per Win.

Their team adjudicator, ๐‘ฑ๐’๐’‰๐’ ๐‘ท๐’‚๐’–๐’ ๐‘ฉ๐’‚๐’“๐’“๐’๐’”๐’‚ (I - BS Chemistry) was able to adjudicate in the Open Grandfinals and take the 6th Best Judge Award!
