From July 28 to 29, The TUP SIBOL 2026 commenced with a blast of performances, events, music, and booths. Bringing together the new and old students in one place to celebrate the new academic year!

We are elated to thank everyone who came and visited the Junior Designer’s Club (JDC) Booth during the TUP SIBOL 202! We are extremely grateful for your love and support throughout the event. We hope you enjoyed trying out our booth activities and exploring everything we had to offer. From RETASEW products to handcrafted crochet pieces by PATHAHIAN, funky and fun pins, and other creative finds created with passion and dedication. And the HIT game, “PAKAK OR JACKPOT”!

Seeing everyone come by, participate, and support our booth made the experience even more memorable. 𝟐 𝐓𝐔𝐏-𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭-𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 𝟕𝟐𝟎-𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐎𝐒𝐓-𝐏𝐓𝐑𝐈

Innovation meets heritage as two (2) Bachelor of Technology in Apparel and Fashion students from the Technological University of the Philippines – Manila (TUP-Manila) successfully completed their 720-hour Textile Science Internship Program (TSIP) at the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI).

Throughout their internship, Ms. Alyssa Y. Rosalejos and Ms. Frenzy Keinsha C. Torred gained hands-on experience in textile science, research, and product development, culminating in the presentation of their research and capsule collection, "Development of Filipiniana from Late 19th Century and Early 20th Century using DOST-PTRI Textile Innovations and Technologies."

Their work explored how Philippine cultural heritage can be reimagined through DOST-PTRI's textile innovations, including digital textile printing and Philippine Tropical Fabrics (PTF), creating Filipiniana-inspired designs that honor tradition while embracing innovation and sustainability.

Conducted under the Textile Science Internship Program (TSIP) of the DOST-PTRI Textile Academy, the internship equips future textile professionals with the knowledge and skills to advance the Philippine textile industry.

Congratulations, Ms. Rosalejos and Ms. Torred! Your passion for textile science and innovation reflects the next generation of Filipino researchers and designers. We wish you continued success as you weave the future of Philippine textiles.

The Apparel and Fashion Technology community proudly celebrates another remarkable milestone as its competitors showcased excellence and creativity at the TESDA NCR WorldSkills Philippines–NCR 2026 held from May 26–29.

With passion woven into every detail and creativity reflected in every stitch, this victory stands as a testament to dedication, artistry, and perseverance.
