🌿 Harvest Day at the Rooftop Garden of Peace! 🌿

Today, we just shared fresh, homegrown greens with different offices during lunch break at the Taft Campus. Grown with care in our Atrium rooftop garden, these simple harvests show how small efforts can make a positive impact on our community and the environment.

It’s more than just sharing food—it’s about encouraging everyone to be part of a more sustainable and mindful way of living.

The La Salle Botanical Gardens is ready to grow—and we need your help. 🌱

The garden is taking shape with the ongoing site development. In parallel, we are opening spaces for planting this coming rainy season so we’re now calling for seedling donations to help build a resilient, native, and learning-centered landscape in Porac, Pampanga, using Philippine native trees and shrubs.

📅 Planting Period: May to September 2026
📍 Planting Site: La Salle Botanical Gardens, Porac, Pampanga
📍 Drop-off Locations: De La Salle Philippines or La Salle Botanical Gardens

🌳 How you can help:
☑️Donate at least 10 seedlings (or more!) of native trees and shrubs
☑️Label each seedling with: donor’s name, scientific name, common name, where it was sourced, seedling age, and date collected/propagated
☑️For bulk donations, we can help arrange pick-up

𝐋𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐎𝐒𝐄 🌍💧

Yesterday, the Benilde Center for Built Environment and Logistics journeyed to Taal, Batangas, for its Earth Day 2026 celebration, in collaboration with Epcon Pest Management and Services, grounded in Lasallian-Benildean values of service, stewardship, and social responsibility.

The day began with a Holy Mass at the Taal Basilica, followed by a visit to the Archdiocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Caysasay, centering the experience on faith and purpose. Carrying this spirit forward, the group continued its tradition of community engagement by reaching out to a valued partner. Together with the Brgy. Butong LGU, the group donated pre-loved items and fishing gear materials to the Samahang Mandaragat ng Butong, supporting livelihoods and strengthening community ties.

In the afternoon, the group deepened its appreciation for environmental sustainability through an educational visit to the NFRDI-Freshwater Fisheries Research and Development Center. The participants learned about freshwater food fish such as Maliputo (𝐶𝑎𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑥 𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑜𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑠) and Tawilis (𝑆𝑎𝑟𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑎 𝑡𝑎𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑠), key species in Taal’s ecosystem and fisheries production. The orientation and facility tour highlighted the vital role of fisheries in sustaining both the environment and local communities.

As we celebrate Earth Day, may this journey remind us that caring for our common home is not just a one-day commitment, but a lifelong Lasallian mission. May we continue to act with compassion, serve with purpose, and lead the way toward a sustainable future.

Yesterday, Greenergy DLS-CSB and the Built Environment Unit (BEU) gathered at the Garden of Peace on the Atrium Campus Rooftop. The students experienced hands-on gardening techniques and enjoyed getting their hands dirty with the soil.

The activity was about more than just plants—it promoted urban gardening to support Sustainable Development Goals. As stewards of creation, the students are committed to caring for the environment, even in the heart of the city. By turning rooftops into green spaces, they are helping to build a more sustainable and resilient urban landscape. 🌏🌱

In celebration of Lasallian Mission Week, the CBEL's Logistics Support Unit proudly participated in Lasallian Superheroes: Mission in Action—a campus-wide cosplay event that highlights the vital support each office provides to the Benildean community.

Our "Superpower 🚍⚡ Benilde’s Fully Electric Shuttle Bus" —an innovative and eco-friendly solution for navigating our campuses. Serving students, faculty, and associates daily across the Malate vicinity, this electric shuttle plays a crucial role in reducing carbon emissions and minimizing our city’s environmental footprint compared to traditional fuel-powered vehicles.
