On October 19, 2026, the EAC Counseling and Testing Center conducted PROJECT HOPE: Helping Others, Protect Emilian, featuring resource speaker Dr. Marilyn N. Hari, RGC, RPm, LPT, CMHF, CHRA.

The seminar emphasized the importance of su***de prevention, recognizing signs of emotional distress, responding with empathy, and connecting individuals to appropriate support. Through this initiative, we were reminded that a simple act of kindness, a listening ear, and a willingness to reach out can make a difference in someone's life.

As we look back on this event, may we carry its message forward and continue building a community where every Emilian feels heard, valued, and supported. Because protecting lives begins with caring for one another.

A new week, a new opportunity!

You don't have to have everything figured out to begin. Take things one step at a time, and remember that every day gives you another chance to learn, grow, and do better.

Wishing all Emilians a meaningful week ahead!

Monday can sometimes feel like a reminder of everything we need to accomplish—classes, requirements, responsibilities, personal goals, and everything in between.

But here’s your reminder, Emilians: you don’t need to figure everything out all at once. You only need to focus on what you can do today. Take the next step, no matter how small it may seem.

One task.
One decision.
One moment at a time.

And if you’re feeling lost or unsure about what comes next, that’s okay, too. Growth doesn’t always come with a clear map. Sometimes, you discover the way by simply continuing to move forward.

No pressure to have it all figured out. Just keep going, one step at a time. You got this, Emilians!

Before another week begins, here’s your Sunday reminder, Emilians: you do not have to be perfect.

You might look at other people and feel like they’re doing better than you. Someone seems more confident. Someone gets higher grades. Someone already knows what career they want. Someone seems to have their life completely together.

But remember: you are comparing your behind the scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.

You are allowed to learn at your own pace. You are allowed to make mistakes. You are allowed to change your mind. You are allowed to have days when you’re not at your best.

What matters is that you continue learning, growing, and becoming the person you want to be.

Before the new week starts, take a moment to acknowledge yourself:

What did I accomplish this week?
What did I learn?
What challenged me?
What am I proud of—even if it seems small?

Give yourself credit. You made it through another week. That counts.

Tomorrow is another opportunity to begin again.

No perfection required. Just keep growing.

It’s Saturday. And if your week has been giving “I’m running on 2% battery but still functioning somehow” energy… this one’s for you.

We often spend so much time trying to meet expectations, finish responsibilities, help others, and keep up with everything happening around us that we forget one important person:

Ourselves.

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.

Rest when you need to rest. Eat when you’re hungry. Drink some water. Get enough sleep. Spend time with people who make you feel safe and supported. Do something simply because it makes you happy. Give your mind a break from constantly thinking about what comes next.

You don’t always have to be productive to have a meaningful day.

Sometimes, doing nothing for a while is exactly what your brain needs.

So this weekend, consider giving yourself permission to recharge without feeling guilty about it.

Because you deserve care, too.

Reminder: You are not a machine. You are a person—and people need rest.

What an incredible way to end our Mental Health Celebration! Our final day brought together 748 Emilians, making it our most attended day of the three-day celebration!

From 308 attendees on Day 1 to 219 on Day 2 and an amazing 748 on Day 3, we're grateful to everyone who showed up and made this celebration a success.

The celebration doesn't end without a little extra excitement! Congratulations to our 320 lucky Emilian winners of the Mental Health Celebration prizes! We hope these prizes bring a little more happiness to your day.

To everyone who participated, supported, and celebrated with us, thank you for being part of this year's event. May we continue to create a community where mental health is valued, conversations are encouraged, and asking for support is always okay.

Until our next celebration, Emilians! Keep showing up for yourself and for one another.

So… how was your week?

Maybe you had a productive week. Maybe you absolutely cooked.

Or maybe things didn’t go according to plan. Maybe you received a grade you weren’t expecting, struggled to keep up with your requirements, had an awkward moment, made a mistake, or simply felt like you weren’t doing enough.

Whatever kind of week you had, remember this:

One bad day does not define you. One failed attempt does not define you. One disappointing result does not define your entire story.

Failure can hurt, and it’s okay to acknowledge that. But it can also teach us what we need to improve, what we value, and what we can do differently next time.

So if this week didn’t go the way you wanted, don’t let it convince you that you can’t do better.

Learn from it. Give yourself grace. Make a plan. Try again.

Your comeback doesn’t have to be dramatic. Sometimes, it simply starts with deciding not to give up.

Happy Friday, Emilians!

We often see only a small part of another person’s story.

The classmate who seems quiet.
The friend who suddenly stopped replying.
The student who looks like they have everything together.
The person who always makes everyone laugh.

We may never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.

That’s why kindness matters.

A simple “Are you okay?”, a little patience, a sincere compliment, or simply choosing not to judge someone too quickly can make a bigger difference than we realize. Sometimes, people don’t need us to solve their problems—they just need someone willing to listen.

So today, let’s practice a little more empathy.

Be the reason someone feels seen, heard, and valued.

And while we’re learning to extend kindness to others, let’s remember to extend it to ourselves, too. You deserve the same compassion you freely give to the people around you.
