Similar to the use of Google Drive, we remind all users of Google Groups to exercise EXTREME CAUTION in the use of our Google Groups in the University's Google Workspace domain.

Google’s Terms of Service can be accessed here:

Those who are Owners and Managers of Google Groups must take note of the permission settings of their groups such as the following:

🔸Who can view conversations
🔸Who can post
🔸Who can view members
🔸And more

⛔ Please be reminded that Owners and Managers should NOT set the privacy/permissions/access settings to:

➡️“Entire organization” or
➡️“Anyone on the web”

as these may open the Google Group to outsiders. ⛔

We are truly grateful for the Gender Sensitivity Orientation conducted for our office last May 7. The session provided valuable insights that deepened our understanding of gender awareness, inclusivity, and respect in the workplace.

This day is a reminder that strong passwords are essential for our digital security. As our digital world continues to grow, our security becomes more important than ever. We remind everyone again that strong passwords should:
1️⃣ Have at least 12 characters—the longer, the better
2️⃣ Be a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols
3️⃣ Be completely different from your other passwords.

But strong password security does not stop at its creation! Keep these security tips in mind:
1️⃣ Store your passwords in a safe place if you write them down
2️⃣ Use a reliable password manager if you have trouble remembering them
3️⃣ Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for further security

Be mindful when uploading and sharing files in the University’s Google Workspace.

Only share with the intended recipients—set permissions to specific users only. Avoid selecting “University of the Philippines” or “Anyone with the link” to prevent unintended access.

Keep your files secure and relevant—do not upload personal files unrelated to academic, administrative, or research work.
