The School of Civil, Environmental, and Geological Engineering (SCEGE) proudly congratulates Ian Rhazel D. Bartolome, Patricia Grace Y. Dichoso, Aldreinne Neille V. Ugali, and Neiconel G. Bandala, along with their thesis adviser, Engr. Christ John L. Marcos, for the successful publication of their research in IEEE Xplore, officially indexed in Scopus.

Their study, “Forecasting Road Crash Trend Utilizing Recurrent Neural Network: A Time Series Analysis Approach in the City of Manila,” was presented at the 2024 4th International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and Visualization (AIVRV), held on November 1-3, 2024, in Nanjing, China, and published by IEEE.

This research employs Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) and Time Series Analysis to forecast road crash trends, providing data-driven solutions for urban safety, traffic management, and sustainable infrastructure planning. By integrating artificial intelligence into civil engineering, this study aligns with global efforts to reduce road accidents, enhance urban resilience, and contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

This milestone reinforces Mapúa University’s dedication to cutting-edge research and technological innovation in civil and transportation engineering. The study’s inclusion in Scopus and IEEE Xplore ensures global academic visibility and impact.
