When we first recited our oaths for the 2025-2026 term, we thought we knew exactly what we were signing up for. We stood there, brimming with grand visions, fully believing we could conquer the world, or at least, the College of Nursing. But nothing truly prepares you for the sheer weight of holding the hopes, grievances, and exhaustion of an entire student body on your shoulders. It wasn't just about planning events, balancing budgets, or drafting resolutions; it was about becoming the anchor for a CONmunity that is constantly drowning in the pressures of thick medical-surgical textbooks, grueling clinical shifts, and the relentless anxiety of nursing school. We promised to be their voice, their breather, and their champions. In that moment, the title of "student leader" ceased to be just a line on a resume. It became a solemn vow.

Let us talk about the reality of the grind, the one they donโ€™t put on the glossy pubmats. Itโ€™s finishing a toxic eight-hour shift at the hospital, smelling like rubbing alcohol and sheer panic, and running straight to meetings. Itโ€™s hiding behind a pile of reviewers for tomorrow's deadly return demo, while phones blow up with emergency messages about venue approvals, letters na ipdagan, missing document, members na gahi ug ulo or wa nay trabaho2, and sudden schedule changes. There were nights when we were entirely running on empty, fueled by nothing but lukewarm coffee, the fear of failure, and the shared delirium of the Executive Committee and our committee members. We were students first, fighting our own terrifying academic battles, yet we constantly put our own peace on hold so that the rest of the college could find theirs.

But then, looking at the masterpieces created out of that chaos, suddenly every ounce of exhaustion dissipates. We remember the deafening roar of the crowd when the Striking Sphinx dominated the Palaro arena, the absolute brilliance on display during the Grand Nightingale, and the quiet, profound gratitude in the eyes of exhausted students grabbing a simple cup of coffee during our CONbreather for finals week. We didn't just organize events; we engineered lifelines. We championed inclusivity, we managed the ledgers, we captured the moments through our creatives, and we built an environment where a student nurse could feel seen, heard, and valued. Those fleeting moments of joy amidst the academic storm, that was our masterpiece, and it made every sleepless night worth it.

None of this would have been a reality without the people in the trenches with us. This term was forged in the fire of teamwork, disagreements, compromises, and unconditional support. To every single committee member who did the heavy lifting behind the scenes, to the ExeCom who debated until throats were dry in the OSAS room, and to our advisers, Ma'am June Isa and Sir Al Duane, who anchored us when the waves got too high, we became a family. We were a mosaic of different personalities, different strengths, and different levels of sanity, but we all bled the same blue and gold. We learned how to care for one another with the same fierce compassion that we are taught to give to our patients.

As we stand here and look back at the 2025-2026 term, we realize that our legacy isn't defined by the absolute perfection of our events or the exactness of our parliamentary procedures. We made mistakes. We had programs that didn't go exactly as planned, proposals that were challenged, and moments where the burnout made us want to throw in the towel. But our true legacy is our resilience. It is the culture of continuous growth that we cultivated and left behind. We proved that it is possible to lead with deep empathy, to demand excellence without sacrificing humanity, and to leave the college just a little bit better, a little bit stronger, and a little bit kinder than how we found it.

Now, the time has come to pass the torch. The turnover ceremony is finished, the papers are signed, and the next breed of leaders is ready to take the helm. It is a bittersweet reality, stepping back from something that has consumed our hearts and souls for an entire year. But looking at the incoming officers, we feel nothing but immense pride and profound peace. The foundation is firmly set. The blueprint is in their capable hands. Our chapter may be closing, but the story of the College of Nursing Student Council Organization will continue to unfold in brilliant, unexpected ways. We gave it everything we had, and we leave with no regrets.

Our shift as your student leaders has finally ended, but the heartbeat of the CONmunity we built will echo forever.

Sincerely,
The CONSCO 2025-2026
