The Department of Behavioral Sciences is pleased to share its latest updates and accomplishments. This report covers recent developments across academic instruction, research, community engagement, and interdepartmental collaborations.

Over the past term, faculty and students have continued to advance work in key areas of behavioral science, contributing to publications, presenting at national and international conferences, and implementing programs that bridge theory and practice. The Department of Health Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center-Bukidnon, in collaboration with the Behavioral Sciences Department, cordially invites 4th-year Sociology and Psychology students to participate in a Gender and Development activity titled "Substance Use and Mental Health: Working with Sexual and Gender Minority Populations."

Scheduled on August 28, 2024, from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM, this activity is anchored on imparting drug awareness and the prevalence of substance use among youth, examining the impact of specific cultural and social determinants on health within the community, and providing a basic understanding of evidence-based prevention and targeted interventions for LGBTQIA+ individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs).

With great enthusiasm and commitment, the Department of Behavioral Sciences which consists of BA Sociology and BS Psychology students are thrilled to announce its first-ever Department Freshmen Orientation on August 7, 2024 at 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the CAS Auditorium, CAS Extension!
