📣 Department of Mathematics Orientation Program
For All Stakeholders

The Department of Mathematics of Central Mindanao University warmly invites all stakeholders to the Department of Mathematics Orientation Program on August 5, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the CNSM AV Hall.

This activity aims to orient our stakeholders on the department’s academic programs, policies, student services, research and extension opportunities, and other important matters that support student development and academic success.

The orientation will be conducted in a hybrid format. The online meeting link will be sent to the email addresses provided by registered participants.

We encourage the participation of undergraduate and graduate students, parents or guardians, alumni, faculty and staff, and institutional and community partners as we strengthen our shared commitment to mathematical excellence, service, and community.

📚 SFE Research Colloquium 2026

The Department of Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, Central Mindanao University, invites the academic community to the SFE Research Colloquium 2026 on July 21, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The colloquium will feature research presentations by students from the BS Mathematics and BS Mathematics minor in Statistics programs. The studies cover mathematical modeling, discrete mathematics, graph theory, algebra, number theory, numerical analysis, and real analysis.

The Department of Mathematics, College of Arts and Sciences, Central Mindanao University proudly presents the ’26 Final Defense 🎓 of its BS Mathematics students.

This year’s final defense features undergraduate research 📚 in a wide range of areas, including Dynamical Systems and Modeling, Bayesian Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Algebra, Analysis, Graph Theory, Algebraic Graph Theory, Numerical Graph Theory, and Topological Graph Theory.

These studies reflect the students’ sustained effort, discipline, and commitment to mathematical inquiry 🧠, as well as the guidance of their research advisers 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 throughout the preparation of their theses.

The Department extends its best wishes 🌟 to all student-researchers as they present and defend the results of their work. May this important academic undertaking serve as a meaningful culmination of their undergraduate journey and a strong beginning for their future pursuits in mathematics, research, and professional practice.

A little late, but with great pride, the Department of Mathematics, Central Mindanao University, shares highlights from the recently conducted Master’s Thesis Defenses 🎓 held on April 16, 2026 📅 at ASComLab 📍

The presentations featured the following studies in Graph Theory 📘:

• Safe Radius Centrality in Graphs
• Enclaveless Sets in Graphs
• Total Defensive Alliances in Graphs

These thesis defenses reflect the commitment of our graduate students 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓 to meaningful mathematical research and the continued growth of scholarship in the Department 📚

The Department also extends its sincere appreciation 🙏 to the adviser, panel members, and examiners for their time, expertise, and valuable insights shared during the defense proceedings.
