𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | On 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 2nd Year BS Food Technology students successfully participated in the seminar entitled "𝑨𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒐𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒄𝒚 𝑨𝒄𝒕 𝒐𝒇 2012: 𝑩𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒄𝒚-𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒄𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒇𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒔" held at the College of Human Ecology Function Hall as part of their preparation for On-the-Job Training (OJT) 1.

The seminar was conducted under the guidance of the esteemed faculty of the Department of Food Science, Sir Allan P. Ministerio, and Ma'am Bethel Jane N. Iligan, whose continuous support and dedication in preparing students for their future professions made this meaningful learning opportunity possible. The activity served as a platform for students to better understand their responsibilities in handling personal and sensitive information as they prepare to enter real-world work environments.

The event was further enriched by the presence of Engr. Emelio C. Navaja, who shared his expertise and valuable insights on the importance of data privacy, ethical information handling, and maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in the workplace. Through his discussion, students gained a deeper appreciation of their role in safeguarding personal data and becoming responsible, privacy-conscious professionals.

𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, we proudly celebrate the 128𝒕𝒉 𝑷𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒚, a reminder of the bravery, strength, and love for country shown by our national heroes. Their sacrifices helped make possible the freedom and opportunities we enjoy today. As we honor this important day, let us remember that being patriotic is not only about remembering our history, but also about doing our part to help our communities, showing respect for one another, and working together for a better future.

Today, 𝘑𝘶𝘯𝘦 7𝘵𝘩, we come together for World Food Safety Day, guided by the theme "𝙁𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙗𝙪𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 – 𝙨𝙖𝙛𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚." At PAFT-Sigma, we believe that the best way to fight foodborne illness is to stop it before it starts. Through scientific innovation, collective action, and simple daily routines, we can turn the heavy price of unsafe food into practical, life-saving measures, protecting every meal from farm to fork.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬

Safe food is everyone's right and everyone's responsibility. Unsafe food causes over 200 diseases and hits young children the hardest, yet these tragedies are largely preventable. Moving from burden to solutions means choosing prevention over reaction: washing hands, separating raw from cooked, cooking thoroughly, keeping food at safe temperatures, and using clean water. On a larger scale, it means investing in traceability, training, and teamwork across borders. Every small action adds up to a safer world.
