Before the lights shine and the crowd begins to cheer, every story starts with a single spark — a spark of passion, creativity, and identity.

For generations, stories have been carried through movements, voices, colors, and traditions. They remind us of our roots, celebrate our differences, and strengthen the bond that unites us beneath the presence of Kalayo.

Now, the stage becomes a place where these stories come alive.

And beneath the towering presence of Kalayo lies a story built not by one, but by many.

A story of 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 who continue to walk these grounds, chasing dreams and shaping their futures.

A story of 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 who guide and inspire generations along the way.

A story of 𝗖𝗠𝗨𝗮𝗻𝘀 who carry the name and spirit of CMU wherever life takes them.

A story of a 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 bound by a shared home.

From Kalayo came five gifts: the strength of the land, the flow of water, the warmth of fire, the breath of wind, and the bond of community.

Together, they became more than separate forces.

𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗼𝗹𝘀

In compliance with the Memorandum from the Office of the Chairperson, Commission on Higher Education, dated 18 August 2026, Central Mindanao University hereby directs the implementation of heightened security and safety protocol throughout the University premises.

All concerned are directed to:
[1] Immediately report suspicious persons, activities, packages, threats, hazards, or emergencies to the University Security Office;
[2] Ensure that emergency exits, evacuation routes, assembly areas, and emergency equipment remain accessible and unobstructed;
[3] Strengthen access control and security monitoring of University facilities, particularly in critical and high-occupancy areas;
[4] Present bag/backpacks for security inspection;
[5] Observe strictly University curfew hours from 9:30 PM to 4:00 AM;
[6] Immediately coordinate with the ODRRM, Office of Security Services, Office of Hospital Services, and other concerned offices during emergencies or security-related incidents;
[7] Coordinate with the PNP, AFP, BFP, and other appropriate authorities if their assistance or intervention is deemed necessary; and
[8] Observe existing University security, safety, emergency, and crisis management procedures at all times.

The Office of Security Servies and the Office of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management shall monitor compliance with this Order and recommend appropriate additional measures as necessary.

All members of the University community are hereby enjoined to exercise due diligence, remain vigilant, and strictly comply with established security and safety protocols and lawful instructions from authorized University personnel.

Last 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 officially brought together student leaders and advocates for Gender and Development at the GAD Function Hall. It is the beginning of a shared commitment to turn conversations into action and make inclusivity a collective responsibility.

With the participation of 𝟭𝟭 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, the gathering became a meaningful space for 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 as we work toward a more gender-responsive, inclusive, and empowered university community.

Spearheaded by the 𝗦𝗦𝗖-𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲, with the valuable collaboration and support of the University Center of Gender and Development (UC-GAD), this first gathering marks the beginning of stronger partnerships and collective action for GAD initiatives across the university.
