𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐂𝐇 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐈𝐂𝐄

Last June 6, 2026 | the 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (LISSA) of the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (DLIS) marked a meaningful transition as the torch of leadership and service was formally passed from the officers of A.Y. 2025–2026 to the incoming leaders of A.Y. 2026–2027.

The outgoing officers leave behind more than accomplishments. They leave a legacy of dedication, commitment, and excellence. Through their hard work and exemplary service, they established standards that strengthened the organization and inspired those who will follow in their footsteps.

As a new chapter begins, the torch now rests in the hands of a new generation of leaders. With the foundation laid by their predecessors, we are confident that they will uphold these standards, embrace new challenges, and create a legacy uniquely their own.

Leadership may change, but the commitment to serve remains constant.

To our outgoing officers, your term may have come to an end, but the impact of your leadership will continue to be felt in the organization you helped shape. Thank you for your dedication, sacrifices, and invaluable contributions. The standards you set and the legacy you leave behind will remain a source of inspiration for the LISSA generations of leaders to come. ● Candidates who were not elected during the voting process were assigned to open positions where no candidates ran, in order to ensure that all organizational positions are filled and responsibilities are properly distributed. This was agreed upon by the COMELEC and the LISSA Adviser, and is in accordance with the provisions of LISSA Constitution and By-Laws (CBL).

● All processes conducted during the election, including the Miting de Avance and Election Day, were carried out in full compliance with the LISSA Constitution and By-Laws (CBL), ensuring fairness, transparency, and proper governance throughout the electoral process.

● The SC Representatives’ positions were determined during the college-wide election held on May 2, 2026, which was conducted simultaneously with the selection process for the Supreme Student Government (SSG) representatives, in order to identify and finalize the official representatives to be endorsed to the MSU SSG.

● There is currently no elected 1st Year Representative, as this position will be subjected to voting during the next General Assembly.

To our fellow LISSA members and the entire Department of Library and Information Science community:

We have officially concluded our electoral process for the upcoming academic year! It has been an inspiring journey of leadership, marking a seamless transition as we prepare to write the next chapter for our association.

The journey began on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟭𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, with our dynamic 𝙑𝙞𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙡 𝙈𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙙𝙚 𝘼𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚. This event served as a vital platform where our candidates voiced their visions and presented the platforms they hope to achieve for all of us. The 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗔) conducted both college and department-level Ramadhan outreach efforts, with strong collaboration from partner organizations and guidance from faculty advisors.

For the college-level CSSH Grand Iftar Drive, LISSA worked with SAMAFIL, AMKA, APSS, and the CSSH Student Council to support 6 torils and 3 masjids, plus a community pantry with groceries and daily essentials.

The department-level initiative reached a total of 5 designated beneficiaries along with a community pantry. The support was provided to 𝑫𝒂𝒓 𝑯𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒃𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉 𝑶𝒓𝒑𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒔, 𝑭𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒍 𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒎/𝑴𝒂𝒔𝒋𝒊𝒅 𝑯. 𝒁𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑻𝒂𝒎𝒑𝒊, 𝑫𝒂𝒓𝒖𝒍𝑯𝒊𝒌𝒎𝒂 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒉𝒇𝒊𝒅𝒉𝒊𝒍 𝑸𝒖𝒓-𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒍 𝒌𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒎, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒖𝒍 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒂𝒍 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒊𝒎𝒂𝒕- 𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒃𝒐𝒚𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍𝒔, with groceries, meals, clothes, and essential items distributed. A total of ₱28,569.00 was collected, and every penny was spent properly.

𝐀𝐥𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡: 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 – 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐒𝐒𝐇 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐟𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ صَدَقَتَنَا هَذِهِ رِضًى لَكَ وَبَرَكَةً لِمَنْ أَعْطَى وَمَنْ تَلَقَّى

(O Allah, make this act of charity pleasing to You, and a source of blessings for those who gave and those who received. )

Alhamdulillah! The 1st CSSH Grand Iftar Drive, held on March 14–15, 2026, successfully reached 669 beneficiaries, raising ₱73,140 through the generosity of our donors. This initiative was made even more meaningful as it marked 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗔’𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 with other student societies, uniting 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗙𝗜𝗟, 𝗔𝗠𝗞𝗔, 𝗔𝗣𝗦𝗦, and the 𝗖𝗦𝗦𝗛 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 led by Chief 𝙃𝙖𝙛𝙨𝙖𝙝 𝙃. 𝙎𝙖𝙞𝙙 to serve the community with love and compassion.

On behalf of LISSA, we are so grateful and happy for this collaboration, which reflects the true spirit of teamwork, service, and faith. Special thanks to our very own Ate pres. 𝙉𝙞𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝘼. 𝙄𝙢𝙖𝙢, whose vision and determination pushed this collaboration forward, making it possible for all the societies to work together seamlessly.

As the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:

“The one who guides others to do good will have a reward like the one who does it.” – Sahih Muslim
This hadith beautifully reflects our collaboration—every student, officer, and volunteer involved shares in the reward of serving others, demonstrating the power of unity and working together for good.

On Day 1, we distributed iftar packs to Torils and Masjids (269 beneficiaries from 6 Torils and 400 beneficiaries from 3 Masjids), including meals, groceries, hygiene kits, and donated clothes.

On Day 2, a community pantry allowed us to share groceries, fruits, vegetables, and daily essentials with families outside the gym. Witnessing the smiles, joy, and gratitude of the beneficiaries reminded us that even small acts of giving can leave a lasting impact.

We extend our deepest thanks to all donors, volunteers, and organizers, especially the three societies and the CSSH Student Council. May Allah reward your efforts, multiply your blessings, and continue to inspire more collaborations in goodness.

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ فِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَعْمَالِهِمْ وَاجْعَلْهَا خَيْرًا لَهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ

Alhamdulillah, this initiative was made possible through the efforts of the 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗔) under the Department of Library and Information Science, led by our dedicated Society Head, 𝗡𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗔. 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗺, whose leadership, guidance, and sincere efforts played a vital role in making this activity possible. We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to our respected faculty members—𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗰𝘀𝗼-𝗚𝗼, 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗠. 𝗔𝗯𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮’𝗮𝗺 𝗟𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗠. 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻—for their encouragement and support to the students in conducting this initiative.

With grateful hearts, we were honored to share the blessings of iftar with our chosen beneficiaries. For our first beneficiary, the girls’ toril 𝐃𝐚𝐫 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐎𝐫𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐬, we were able to distribute groceries, donated clothes, dates, one sack of rice, iftar meals, and fruits to 26 girls. Meanwhile, for our second beneficiary, 𝐅𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐥 𝐈𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦 / 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐣𝐢𝐝 𝐇. 𝐙𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢, which serves both the masjid community and a boys’ toril, we shared iftar meals and dates with 95 boys. Alhamdulillah, the total number of beneficiaries reached 121 individuals, all receiving the blessings and care from this initiative.

To all the donors, volunteers, LISSA officers, and LISSA students who dedicated their time, effort, and generosity to make this initiative successful, may Allah accept your sadaqah, multiply your rewards, and grant you abundant blessings in this life and in the Hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ اجْزِهِمْ خَيْرَ الْجَزَاءِ وَارْزُقْهُمْ بَرَكَةً فِي أَرْزَاقِهِمْ

O Allah, reward them with the best reward and grant blessings in their sustenance.

In Sha Allah, this act of sharing will continue in the coming years. May Allah allow us to serve more and spread more الخير (goodness).
