The Young Researchers' Club (YRC) successfully held this semester's In-House Research Colloquium on July 13, 2026, at the YRC Office, MSU Main Campus, providing senior members with a platform to present their research studies and share their scholarly work with fellow members and participants. The event fostered meaningful academic discussions and highlighted the organization's commitment to promoting research and knowledge exchange. YRC also extends its sincere appreciation to 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐀. The Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO) successfully conducted the first session of its Capability-Building Training Workshop Series on July 9, 2026, at the Director's Office, 3rd Floor, San Isidro Hall, Mindanao State University Main Campus, bringing together IREO personnel for a learning session focused on enhancing technical writing and reporting competencies through the use of artificial intelligence tools.

The activity was facilitated with the assistance of the Young Researchers' Circle (YRC) and featured 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐇. 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐝𝐢, 𝐌𝐀𝐄𝐋𝐓, a faculty member from the College of Education of Mindanao State University–Marawi, as the resource speaker. Prof. Macapodi delivered a comprehensive lecture on the preparation and development of effective technical reports and executive briefings, emphasizing their importance in communication, decision-making, and organizational reporting, while introducing various artificial intelligence tools and applications that can enhance technical writing through improved efficiency, organization, and quality.

As part of the workshop activities, IREO personnel were grouped and assigned specific topics to work on. Each group collaboratively prepared technical reports and executive briefings, applying the concepts, strategies, and AI-assisted techniques discussed during the lecture.

The activity provided participants with an opportunity to strengthen their technical writing competencies while embracing innovative technologies that support more effective communication and reporting practices within the University.

𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐎 𝟐.𝟎: 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

On July 4, 2026, the Young Researchers' Club (YRC), in collaboration with the Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO), successfully conducted the IREO 2.0: Office Clean-Up and Organization Drive, bringing members together in a shared effort to improve and organize the office workspace.

Prior to the activity, YRC conducted an 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 with IREO staff to identify the office's immediate needs and priority areas for support. The findings from this process guided the implementation of the initiative, ensuring that the clean-up and organization drive directly addressed the office's identified concerns.

The Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO) successfully conducted its Research Sharing Session on June 24, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Directors' Office, 3rd Floor, San Isidro Hall.

The session featured members of the Young Researchers' Club (YRC) presenting their ongoing club research projects alongside institutional research initiatives led by IREO personnel and research team leaders. Selected student researchers from the College of Education also participated by presenting their respective studies, creating a diverse and collaborative research environment.

Throughout the activity, participants shared their research progress, methodologies, and initial findings, creating a meaningful space for scholarly exchange and collaboration. IREO personnel and fellow researchers provided valuable comments, suggestions, and constructive feedback to help strengthen and refine the studies presented.

The session was led by Dr. Wardah D. Guimba, Director of the Institutional Research and Evaluation Office and Adviser of the Young Researchers' Club, whose guidance and insights contributed greatly to the discussions and development of the participating researchers' work.

The Research Sharing Session underscored the value of collaboration, mentorship, and constructive feedback in advancing research initiatives and supporting the development of quality scholarly work within the university.

The Young Researchers' Club (YRC) successfully conducted its Mid-Year Strategic and Research Meeting 2026 on June 14, 2026, bringing together officers and members to review the organization's accomplishments for the Second Semester of AY 2025–2026, present committee initiatives and achievements, and discuss ongoing and proposed research projects in collaboration with the Institutional Research and Evaluation Office (IREO).

The meeting provided a venue for research teams to share ideas, receive feedback, and refine their studies with valuable insights from YRC Adviser, Dr. Wardah D. Guimba. More importantly, it served as an opportunity to align priorities, strengthen collaboration, and plan future programs and activities as YRC continues to promote research, innovation, and academic excellence.

Last October 26, 2025, the Young Researchers' Club (YRC) successfully conducted the fourth phase of its applicants’ training, the Research Colloquium, held at the Social Hall of the College of Public Affairs, Mindanao State University – Main Campus. As the final phase of the application process, the activity provided applicants with an avenue to showcase their completed research studies across various academic levels, including Senior High School and college.

The colloquium served as both a research exhibit and presentation platform, where applicants shared their studies, engaged with fellow participants, and received constructive feedback from fellow applicants, YRC officers, and faculty members. The activity fostered an interactive environment that encouraged academic exchange, reflection, and appreciation of each applicant’s research efforts.

The presentations were evaluated by Wardah D. Guimba, PhD, Alia I. Pacasirang, MAEd, and Nor-Alrofaida M. Hadji Omar, LPT. The activity concluded with the recognition of outstanding presenters:

The Young Researchers' Club (YRC) was recognized as an 𝐀𝐑𝐂𝐒𝐎 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐞 during the Gabi ng Pagkilala 2026 held on May 30, 2026, at the Social Hall, Provincial Capitol Complex, Marawi City. The recognition was given in acknowledgment of the organization's exemplary performance, active leadership, and commitment to service.

YRC was also nominated for the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 (𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢-𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜) and 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝, reflecting the organization's initiatives, accomplishments, and continued growth throughout Academic Year 2025–2026.

These recognitions reflect the dedication and hard work of our adviser, officers, members, alumni, and supporters. 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗚 𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗦’ 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 𝗔𝗧 𝗗𝗦𝗔 𝗟𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗡 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

On April 30, 2026, the Young Researchers’ Club, through its student representatives Nor-Aalleyah M. G**o, Zuhanah B. Ali, Raihanah I. Macapundag, and Alfahad M. Rasad, participated in DSA Ladiawan: A One-Day Leadership Training Program, held at the International Convention Center, MSU–Main Campus, Marawi City, a formation initiative focused on values-based leadership, accountability, and active student engagement.

The program gathered student leaders for a keynote address and interactive workshops aimed at strengthening leadership capacity and encouraging meaningful participation. During the keynote address, Atty. Rashid Vedra Pandi emphasized that effective leadership is defined not by visibility alone, but by integrity, humility, and the ability to listen.

The Young Researchers’ Club remains committed to fostering responsible leadership and impactful service within the MSU community.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (𝐑𝐏𝐌𝐏) | 𝐌𝐒𝐔–𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞

On April 14 and 21, 2026, the Young Researchers’ Club successfully conducted a two-session Research Peer Mentoring Program (RPMP) at the College of Agriculture, Mindanao State University, aimed at strengthening the research competence of Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management students through guided peer learning.

The first session focused on fundamental research concepts, where peer mentors guided students on the proper use of APA 7th edition style, explained the differences between qualitative and quantitative research, and introduced various sampling techniques used in research. The second session focused on proposal refinement, during which peer mentors provided constructive feedback, shared practical suggestions, and guided students in improving the clarity, organization, and overall quality of their research proposals.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Abdani D. Bandera for his warm welcome and support, which greatly contributed to the success of the RPMP and the fostering of a supportive learning environment. We also express our gratitude to Dr. Wardah D. Guimba, Adviser, for her continued guidance throughout the program’s implementation.

Through this initiative, the Young Researchers’ Club continues to promote academic collaboration and research development among students.
