With new faces, new beginnings, and aspirations to serve, the first day marked the start of another journey into the field of Social Work.

📢 𝐒𝐖𝐀𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐎𝐔𝐓!

The Social Work Department of the College of Public Affairs, Mindanao State University–Main Campus successfully conducted the Social Work Admission Test (SWAT) and interview on July 7, 2026, for 140 incoming first-year applicants endorsed by the Office of the Admissions.

Out of the 140 applicants, 86 successfully passed the SWAT and interview. Congratulations to all the successful examinees, and thank you to everyone who chose to pursue Social Work with us.

The Social Work Department of Mindanao State University - Marawi City hereby releases the Final List of Applicants who are qualified and advised to take the Social Work Admission Test (SWAT).

The Final List of applicants was officially endorsed by the Office of the Admissions. In accordance with its directive, only those applicants whose names appear on the official list have satisfied the prescribed qualifications and are therefore authorized to take the Social Work Admission Test (SWAT).

The Department of Social Work shall cater only to applicants officially forwarded by the Office of the Admissions. Applicants whose names do not appear on the endorsed list shall not be permitted to take the examination.

Only applicants who successfully complete each stage of the admission process shall be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program.

Applicants are encouraged to arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled examination to facilitate registration and verification of requirements.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: On June 6, 2026, the 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐮𝐦 successfully brought together student researchers and faculty members in a meaningful celebration of knowledge, innovation, and social work inquiry.

The event commenced with the registration of participants and the Researcher-Scholar Meet, followed by the preliminaries and welcome remarks delivered by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐡 𝐃. 𝐈𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐢𝐦-𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐠. The rationale of the program was subsequently presented, emphasizing the vital role of research in strengthening social work practice and advancing social development.

The program continued with the introduction of the keynote speaker by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐂. 𝐀𝐛𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐳, followed by an insightful keynote address delivered by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐞 𝐋. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚. Through her presentation, participants gained valuable perspectives on the importance of research in creating meaningful and sustainable social change. An engaging open forum followed, providing an opportunity for students and guests to exchange ideas and reflections.

The morning session concluded with the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to the keynote speaker and the closing remarks delivered by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐈𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐒. 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐚𝐲.

The afternoon session featured the Research Presentations and Gallery Walk, where student researchers showcased their studies . These presentations reflected the dedication of future social workers to evidence-based practice, critical inquiry, and community-responsive research.

Special recognition was also given to outstanding research groups through the presentation of the special awards. The study entitled, “A Mixed-Method Study: Social Workers’ Perceptions on the Proposed Lowering of the Minimum Age of Criminal Responsibility in the Context of Marawi City,” presented by 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥 𝐂. 𝐈𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐚, 𝐉𝐨𝐲𝐜𝐞 𝐌. 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐏. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐄𝐝 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐏. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐠-𝐚𝐧, and 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐲 𝐏. 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐬, received the 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.

Meanwhile, the study entitled, “Awareness and Effectivity of Restorative Justice of the Meranao Parents for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) in Marawi City,” presented by 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐝 𝐎. 𝐀𝐜𝐦𝐚𝐝, 𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐌. 𝐀𝐥-𝐑𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐝 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, 𝐀𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐌. 𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨, 𝐁𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐌. 𝐇. 𝐍𝐚𝐢𝐟, 𝐀𝐥𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐚, and 𝐈𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐦 𝐒. 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐚𝐲, was recognized with both the 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 and the 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.

Guided by the theme, “Co-Creating Hope: Empowering Voices, Transforming Systems, and Uniting Societies through Social Work Inquiry,” the colloquium served as a platform for learning, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge that contributes to social transformation.
