Interested presenters are requested to submit a *Request for Spotlight* together with the following requirements:

• Request for Spotlight
• Three (3) printed copies of the completed research paper or extended abstract
• Certification and Endorsement Form for Spotlight
• Panel Approval Sheet, for thesis or dissertation outputs
• Recommendation from the adviser or consent from the student and other author(s), when the presenter is not the principal or corresponding author
• Appropriate clearance from the Research Review Committee, when applicable, such as Ethics Clearance

The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) formally turned over copies of the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 to the Office of the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (OAVCAA) and the principals of the 13 External High School Units of MSU-Main Campus.

The distribution was spearheaded by 𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺, together with University Research Associate Ms. Elien O. Torres and MSIRC Administrative Staff Ms. Cairon D. Pumbaya. The turnover was held during the general meeting of OAVCAA and the External High School Units for Academic Year 2026-2027.

The Research Handbook, published by MSIRC, was approved by the MSU Board of Regents during its 274th Meeting held on March 31, 2026, through 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟲𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. The copies were formally received by 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗶𝗮 𝗠. 𝗣𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗼-𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴, 𝗣𝗵𝗗, together with the principals of the 13 External High School Units.

In his message, Dir. Mangontarum emphasized the importance of extending the University’s research support mechanisms to the External High School Units. He noted that many of the faculty members in these schools hold master’s and doctoral degrees and occupy collegiate academic ranks, placing them in a strong position to contribute to the University’s research and publication agenda. He encouraged them to maximize the opportunities and support provided by the University and to actively engage in research and publication. He likewise invited them to contribute their scholarly works to the 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘰 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭, one of the flagship publications of MSU-Main Campus.

Following the distribution, the principals engaged Dir. Mangontarum in a discussion on the University’s policies governing research and publication, as well as the various programs, services, and institutional support mechanisms available to faculty members. The discussion provided an opportunity for the External Units to gain a clearer understanding of how they can participate in and benefit from the University’s research ecosystem.

AVC Dumrang and the 13 principals expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Dir. Mangontarum and MSIRC for including the External High School Units among the recipients of this significant institutional resource. They likewise expressed their enthusiasm for strengthening their participation in the University’s research and publication initiatives.

She shared her optimism that the Handbook will empower their faculty members and students to take advantage of the University’s various research support mechanisms, including research grants, financial assistance for paper presentations, and publication incentives. She also conveyed the School’s enthusiasm for collaborating with MSIRC in organizing research-related activities, such as the University Research Spotlight (URS), and in contributing scholarly works to the Mindanao Journal.

The turnover ceremony was followed by an open forum, during which faculty members were given the opportunity to raise questions regarding the University’s research and publication policies. The productive discussion further strengthened the participants’ understanding of the institutional support mechanisms available to researchers across the Main Campus.

The 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗘𝗗) proudly hosted the 𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 (𝗨𝗥𝗦) with the theme, “𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦: 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩, 𝘐𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘶𝘯𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.” The event featured 𝟭𝟴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀 presented by faculty members, staff, and students from 𝗖𝗘𝗗, 𝗞𝗙𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗔𝗦, 𝗖𝗦𝗦𝗛, 𝗖𝗙𝗔𝗦, and 𝗢𝗩𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗗.

All presented papers underwent a rigorous review process in accordance with 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟳𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, making them eligible for submission to the various research opportunities and institutional support programs offered by MSU-Main Campus through the Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ).

𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺 and 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵, 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗲 𝗖. 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗮 delivered their respective messages of support to the participants.

In his message, Dir. Mangontarum emphasized that the College of Education occupies a unique place in fulfilling the mandate of Mindanao State University to advance instruction, research, and extension in service of the peoples of Mindanao. He underscored that every teacher educated by the College becomes an agent of transformation whose influence extends far beyond the classroom, making educational research a powerful catalyst for improving lives and strengthening communities.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor Berowa commended the presenters for their dedication to the pursuit of knowledge, noting that every research paper presented reflects a commitment to improving educational practice, advancing innovation, and expanding the frontiers of learning.

She encouraged the participants never to underestimate the value of their research, emphasizing that the ideas they share today have the potential to influence educational policies, inspire future educators, improve classroom practices, and positively impact the lives of countless learners for years to come.

The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) formally turned over copies of the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 to the MSU-Integrated Laboratory School (MSU-ILS).

The distribution was spearheaded by 𝗠𝗦𝗜𝗥𝗖 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗠. 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗺, together with MSIRC Special Assistant Prof. Dexter C. Canalita and University Research Associate Ms. Elien O. Torres. The turnover was held as part of the opening program of the 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗜𝗟𝗦 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

The Research Handbook, published by MSIRC, was approved by the MSU Board of Regents during its 274th Meeting held on March 31, 2026, through 𝗕𝗢𝗥 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗼. 𝟬𝟲𝟴, 𝘀. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. The copies were formally received by 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗜𝗟𝗦 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 𝗨. 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗰, together with members of the Schools's Executive Committee, including the School Principals, Guidance Counselors, faculty members, and staff.

In her acceptance message, Assistant Dean Salic expressed her sincere appreciation to Dir. Mangontarum and the MSIRC for providing the School with copies of this valuable institutional resource. She reflected on her own experience, as well as those of MSU-ILS faculty members, of having limited access in the past to information on the various research grants, incentives, and support mechanisms available within the University.

She further emphasized the significance of the Institute bearing the name of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮 𝗦𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗿, one of the University's foremost scholars and a towering figure in the field of research. Receiving the Research Handbook, she noted, symbolizes MSU-ILS' acceptance of the challenge to uphold Dr. Saber's legacy by cultivating a stronger research culture within the School. She expressed confidence that the Handbook will inspire faculty members and students alike to produce high-impact research and scholarly publications, enabling MSU-ILS to contribute more meaningfully to the University's vision of an "𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘯."

The Mamitua Saber Institute of Research and Creation ( ) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the Call for Proposals for the 𝗠𝗦𝗨-𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

A total of 𝟱𝟰 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘀 were received from 15 academic units, 3 administrative units of the Main Campus, and 1 proposal from the Marawi Supervised Institutes (MSIs). This overwhelming response reflects the continued commitment of the University community to advancing research, innovation, and knowledge creation.

To ensure a rigorous and impartial selection process, all submitted proposals were endorsed to external technical experts for evaluation on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲. Following the completion of the technical review, the list of approved research projects will be finalized through a 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 to be issued by the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 at the start of the upcoming 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳.

The Institute extends its sincere appreciation to all researchers who devoted their time and expertise to preparing and submitting their research proposals. Your enthusiasm and dedication continue to strengthen the University's culture of research and innovation. MSIRC likewise expresses its heartfelt gratitude to its staff whose hard work, commitment, and willingness to render extended hours of service ensured the timely processing, documentation, and endorsement of all submitted proposals. She expressed her appreciation to Dir. Mangontarum and the MSIRC for spearheading this significant initiative and affirmed ISED’s commitment to maximizing the Handbook in strengthening its research and publication efforts. She likewise conveyed her enthusiasm for collaborating with MSIRC in promoting and publishing the research outputs of the Institute’s faculty members, graduate students, and high school students.
